I wonder Dustin Brown rap would go

I once was a dynamo
Bowlin over slow mo's
Slamming on one Sedin twin
Pounding the puck in

Over the years
Using Stanley to drink beers
I left behind a few tears
And endure some Doan jeers

Now I have a horde
Sixty kids and a wife who is bored
Needing to show the world shes a hockey wife
Seriously dog, **** my life

I pull down near six mill
But all I'm seen as is a bill
I don't score no mores
Except at home of course

Fans still call my name
but its no longer pride, just shame
Asking if I didn't wear the C
where in the NHL would I be

Try as I might
my game is no longer tight
I no longer instill fright
no one challenging me to fight

I guess I'll just play out the stretch
being called names like a minor league wretch
and passing time cashing my pay cheques
wishing I could still lay out those heavy checks

An instant classic!

:handclap: Sick dude

He was never as good as many have said in early part of his career, and he's not nearly as bad as some have described him the past year or two.

And I wouldn't limit him as a third pairing.

Hopefully, Kopi will sign Schenn to an extension. :sarcasm:

rofl, subleasing his contract.

I agree with your first assessment. Not a top-10 pick guy, but not the trash heap everyone else seemed to think minus a handful of philly fans. Just miscast. Ideally he's a third pairing guy but I agree he can spend time on the 2nd unit.

What are everyone's thoughts on how Luke Schenn has looked so far?

IMO, he makes a good first pass, skates fairly well and does a good job on the PK. But he seems to have quite a bit of trouble reading plays in the defensive zone. Doesn't contribute much offensively.

Good third-pairing guy, I guess.

I think he has a better puck poise set than people give him credit for and the gaffes he's made have been from trying to make a perfect pass, I'm okay with that since he's nt just fumbling it around. Definitely not fleet of foot but he's agile enough on the boards, I think he's still learning the system defensively but I haven't had a problem with his reads in general especially considering the time he spent with Ehrhoff (not exactly the best insulator for the Kings' system). I thought he's been fantastic as a d-specialist, PK and just crushing people. Pretty much exactly as the high end of my expectations so far.

Amazing, somebody needs to record this.

Don't you ever let it go!!! You're obsessed. :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :help:

I thought it was funny. (Not to ignore the real money troubles a number of Canadians in the oil industry are going through.)

I saw a documentary on gold the other night. A guy had a framed one trillion dollar bill on his wall. Yes, a real one. Forgot the country it was issued from.

ETA: Topic? Vinny, Schenn, and Weal. Good guys.

With gold dropping the way it has, I wonder how much longer those Gold Rush shows on Nat Geo can last?

In all seriousness though, Philly fans should be questioning their coaching/management on this one. In Philly, Vinny was usually a scratch and when he played he was getting 9:27 a game, 2:26 of which was on the powerplay.

In LA, he's getting 12:56 a game, 1:19 of which is on the powerplay.

Why is Vinny able to play 3:29 more per game -and 4:16 more even strength time per game- on a team that is a cup contender than what he was playing on a club that is barely in the playoff picture.

Someone screwed up in Philly on this one bad, judging on a nine game stretch here. How this guy was a healthy scratch so often there is beyond me.

Style of play. LA slows the game down, dictates pace, clogs the neutral zone, dominates possession, etc. where as Philly (and most of the East cost) plays a more up tempo run and gun game. Vinny still has the same skills, shot, and vision but his 35 year old legs aren't what they used to be. So its the difference in playing in a system that masks his weakness rather than exposing it.
