Is Weal actually playing in Philly or did they send him down?
Schenn is a mini Greener with smaller gloves than Pennercakes. I'm happy.
Vincent doesn't even have his sea-legs yet. He's sucking eggs after every hard shift. Wait til this guy gets in the flow for a few weeks. I couldn't be happier with the moves, at this point.
One of the big problems for Vinny in Philly was that he was not in good shape. It looks like he's motivated to actually try a bit on the backcheck now too.
I expect Luke to give solid minutes in his role. Real issue for him is he's a defensive Dman who isn't very good on the PK and has the occasional inexplicable cough up.
Hope they both play their best in LA. It's just so great to get Vinny's contract off the books...
He's looked just fine on the PK so far. And even playing when the other teams goalie is pulled.

Not being sent down. He's been practicing with the team, learning the new system and getting to know his new teammates. He should be getting a nod soon.
Very excited to be here and the chance of playing more than 7 min a game and more than 2 games in a row. Said it was hard to go from 22 min a game, playing every night to not playing regular and then going 15 min. between shifts.
He's working hard in practice and making a good impression. Hopefully he'll get his chance soon.
Is it just me or did DL pull another rabbit from his hat. If we weren't a contender we can easily flip Schenn and Vinny for more at the deadline and get Hex to pay half their salary.

Kopi and vinny had a PK shift last night together and their wingspan in tandem is hilariously massive.
If nothing else, he's brought size, hitting/heart, and offensive creativity to the bottom lines. The only 'bad defensive play' I've seen from him seemed to be system oriented, like he turned off a backcheck to go annihilate someone

i was just about to say, of what i've seen so far Vinny looks practically Nolan-like in his willingness to practically go out of his way to finish off his hits
i like it, i like it a lot more than i thought i would
If that happens, does that mean we win the trade?
The guy has surprised me with his willingness to muck it up, for sure. Honestly, it's hard to write off guys who were once great and play like garbage on garbage teams. Sorry Flyers, your team is garbage in system and execution. Whodathunk that puck support by teammates matter? Vinny is 35, not 45 and has made his bottom 6 linemates look dangerous. And he's winning face-offs too? Not much more you can ask for. Schenn will play his best hockey with LA and that shouldn't be a surprise either. Provide any player with support and structure and he doesn't have to be Superman to be effective.
I think it's more about expectations. We wanted them to be an upgrade over McBain and Andreoff. That's not a high bar. Flyers wanted them to be a top-6 center and a top-4 d-man.
It's still very early so I'm trying not to get too excited but so far "oh god yes" seems to be the right answer
Yeah, I mean, if your whole game is predicated on puck touches and creativity, it has to be hard to go cold then go out and be productive. he went from being the go-to guy playing with other offensive players 1/3 of every game to playing sporadic minutes with plugs learning how to check and we got exactly the results that should be expected. It's much easier to play low minutes if you're a guy that just goes out there and mostly bangs. I expect him to play pretty well in a system that emphasizes creativity and improvisation especially with many more minutes. Again, I think when all is said and done, everyone here looks like geniuses and very happy.
...now watch that third round pick become Jamie Benn
I know Philly gonna Philly, but is that really where they're at? They have top 6 minutes to give to Jordan Weal?
There's a difference between not meeting expectations and calling a player:
Garbage
A black hole
Lazy

Vinny was on NHL Network. Lots of good bits in there about the Kings system (in comparison to ::cough:: other teams he was on).
