I'am curious. How can it be that we have our best times with Richards and Carter but also this franchise was blaming this 2 to have the wrong culture/ behaviour. The Phantoms have been pretty irrelevant ever since the '05 Calder Cup save for a couple of the early years in Allentown. I think they missed the playoffs all five years they were in Glens Falls. Kind of a shame, it's always more fun when all three PA teams are competitive
And his team wasnt a contender. He needed to build one. And he does it with low volume draft picks and bad trades. And the 2 Blockbuster 100 year contracts to locals. He failed HARD!So, Fletcher had to push for TDL deals and made bad deals and that's the explanation? Again, not shining a positive light!
He has 14 years as a general manager, with a history of never picking in volume and below average drafting. Surely he wasn't pushing for TDL all 14 years.
I've said before, if there was a button that randomly assigned your team a NHL GM, you know for sure that I am pressing it and at least 90% of Flyers fans are too. Even if there were a few Mike Milburys thrown in to dilute the talent base.
They were a young team built to win together coming up through the system around the same time. As we got closer and closer they leaned more and more on veteran pros and the attitude changed. By the time they shipped off bob I don't think anyone was having any fun. Sometimes moves make more sense on paper. It just was a different culture when Richards left than when he started.I'am curious. How can it be that we have our best times with Richards and Carter but also this franchise was blaming this 2 to have the wrong culture/ behaviour.
In hindsight it seems like the wrong decision. I know Richards fell apart later in his contract. But he will be one of my all time favourites nevertheless! What we have since? Giroux and Voracek, Ghost. Nothing more! I hate this team!
Problem was Holmgren thought he fixed the team when he removed the "cancer," and simply ignored that without Pronger, it was an aging team that was no longer competitive. 2011 was very similar to 2019, a few aging stars, some young guys not ready to carry the load.Go back to the environment at the time. Guys excursions into OC, the dry island challenges; the disrespect shown to ownership and such. To some, on the surface, things looked promising. Underneath that veneer lay serious issues that were going to doom that club.
Our drafted goalie? Why not. Would be good.for the ahl. Lappy will get him a.lot of work down thereThere is a rumor in Belarus that Alexei Kolosov will leave for Philadelphia next season

We’ll need all of those goaltenders. So we'll have Hart, Sandstrom, Ersson, Fedotov and Kosolov. That's a lot of goalies.
Would make sense, after watching what happened to Fedotov, I'd get the hell out of the KHL and Belarus. There is a rumor in Belarus that Alexei Kolosov will leave for Philadelphia next season
Surely Fletcher will be able to get value out of this situation and wont end up just losing 2 of them for nothingSo we'll have Hart, Sandstrom, Ersson, Fedotov and Kosolov. That's a lot of goalies.
honestly I have yet to watch a game. seems like I missed two good ones. Even when they lost the 2nd michigan game, they almost came back. Both times at home though. I've been to Pegula Ice Arena before. It's a great spot to watch a game. Feels like you're watching the CoyotesMy man went off the deep end.
Let's hope he doesn't get "drafted" into military service before thenThere is a rumor in Belarus that Alexei Kolosov will leave for Philadelphia next season
I got obliterated right outside of that barn before a football game. Looked kinda small from the outside.honestly I have yet to watch a game. seems like I missed two good ones. Any Russian player who wants to play in the NHL needs to slip out of that place at the first opportunity.Let's hope he doesn't get "drafted" into military service before then
There are always plenty of rental d men out there for Flusher. So we'll have Hart, Sandstrom, Ersson, Fedotov and Kosolov. That's a lot of goalies.
Well, he's not Russian, Belarus is more like a reluctant partner, but since his only options are the KHL, it's probably not the optimal place for someone planning to come over to NA right now. I mean KHL teams wouldn't use their Russian political connections to coerce a young goalie to sign an unfavorable contract, would they?Any Russian player who wants to play in the NHL needs to slip out of that place at the first opportunity.

If Gautier can replace Hayes and cooter can return we should be in just the right spot to make a run at Austin Matthews. We’ll need all of those goaltenders.
Flyers will burn them out keeping their games close.
We need players with elite scoring prowess immediately and even if Couturier and Atkinson were in the lineup….they’re not bona fide scorers!
Hard to win with a 3rd and 3 4th lines every night!
Mediocrity for the next 10 years….vanilla ice cream is just plain f***ing bland …
