Post-Game Talk: pgt

This is a typical HOTTIE FOR BFF BOOBS:

HFboards Overreaction Thread To Invoke Exaggerated Feelings Of Recency Bias-Fueled Fuming Based on Omission Of Basic Sanity.

We get a pass first perimeter player yet gg and the fan base r shocked at all the east west passes, turnovers and lack of greasy goals???
We needed meier not kane
I still think we should have done nothing.
"Kids" arent ready(including miller, schneider)
This version of Panarin wont win cups
Trouba has at least improved since the first half but still is a liability.
Igor isnt playing elite.
GG isnt a cup winning coach.
Rangers, please prove me wrong

Remember when Ryan Clowe scored 2 goals in his first game with us after the TDL and that was basically all he did? Would you guys rather that happen with Kane??

This team is talented. Give them time to gel. Or at least have a few practices. And get their 2 top 4 dmen back.

Kane has never been a perimeter player. You don't get to a playoff resume like Kane's by being perimeter.

Meier was too expensive. Now is Gallant an idiot? Yes.

Guys, Ottawa is a good team that is coached well. They have a sound structure and keep to it. We all know those teams give us trouble. Boston is gonna be a shitshow with another half roster. Maybe go out and have some fun this weekend and revisit this team after some practices, rest, and a full roster.

Also I hope the guy that bet 10k on us to win is okay. Next time anyone feels dumb enough to waste that much money on us, please advise us first

Happy for Brass though. He was a gamer for us and if we weren't scrounging for pennies under the couch, would have loved to bring him back for another playoff run.

What’s better is that every single one of these people would have still been negative if the Rangers held onto the 3-2 lead despite playing down 2 guys and 2 of our top 3 defensemen on a back to back after an away game against a team on a run with 2 new players in our top 6 and PP. Imagine spending so much time and energy on something that you log on to a website to share your thoughts with strangers, and you’re that negative about the most talented team the Rangers have had in decades that just added 2 top playoff performers.

The only thing that proves these wet blankets wrong is lifting the cup, and you know how much tonight’s game matters when it comes to that? Nothing. Doesn’t matter at all. So what the hell are we doing?
This place has become insufferable long before last night. The amount of “experts” who know nothing, the lack of rational reaction, the actively rooting against some guys on the team, the desire to be right and not enter into actual dialogue…. It’s driven away so many good quality posters.

But it’s still one of the most active places to talk Ranger hockey and people sometimes have productive conversations but this negativity is nothing new!

Wouldn't that be a nice first round match.
Yes, would be great. Ottawa is a tough team and finishes all their checks - would be good if they soften the Bruins up a little.

On another note, Stutzle looks so good. Every time he had the puck, I was nervous. How is it that our top 2 picks don't inspire that same feeling from the opposition. One really does have to wonder what is going on with the Rangers forward development. It's like they want all the young kids to be 3rd line grinders first and then go from there. Really weird.

We would have probably turned McDavid into Michael Grabner.

Kane looked like he was playing in his first game on a new team for the first time in his NHL career. They played last night, had to go 5D, they were gassed. Ottawa is trending up and may make the WC race interesting. It’s good we got 2 points against the Flyers. Just had a feeling the wheels would come off being so fatigued from playing the night before and with a depleted line up .

I guess some would say we were Hellbucked once again .....great chances to no end but could not put one past Hellbuck ....that was the go to excuse last time. Oh welll...it was about what I expected . Will be interesting to see what happens when the physical play is turned up a notch in the Playoffs and there are even less PP opps . I hope Lafreniere and Motte are OK....both had their worlds rocked ....not looking forward to Bruin game.....might be safer to forfeit . Oh well....hope for the best and we get away without any more injuries . Ottawa hopefully make the playoffs

I just cannot get too upset over this game under the circumstances, where not only was the NHL schedule not kind to them, but then the NHL screw them with not able to make an emergency call up. You can tell by the 3rd period, our guys, especially the D ,were gassed.

I hope the NHL comes up with a plan to only allow back to back games when a team is home, but that will never happen. I am also all for starting the season earlier and ending it a little later if it means less back to backs.

What happened to Laf? Is that why the kids line was broken up? My focus was on Kane to be honest, lol.

Well deserved for Ottawa outworked us and pushed us around physically.
Yeh...it hurts when u are down two dmen as well and they are also the only reach in the physical dept outside of Kreider[LOL] and Goodrow up front.....rest are Charmin Ultra for most part . Our D could not afford to play physical being shorthanded and Harpur is really soft . Watson is garbage....pretty cheap hit on an ex teammate . I'd say he is not a very nice individual even off the ice . It was not needed.....he should get 5 games for that hit . He has to be repeat offender . Now we just need to play nice and get out of the Boston game without any more injuries and look ahead to next week and regroup . A couple of practices will go a long ways with the group .

When can we afford to add in Cuylee ? I think we need a guy like him on the 4th line . Can he be added and have a few guys sit over the course of a few games ? Can we afford that luxury ?

Laf was blindsided on a play deep in the Ranger end by Tkachuk just before he scored.....I'm not sure if he came back out....he was quite dazed on the ice .

Oh ok, I remember that play looked like he got hit by a freight train after that. Hopefully he is ok.

I didn't read the GDT. I just need to know at what point did some people turn on Patty?
All joking aside, RELAX people. It takes a combo of skill and luck(good breaks/bounces) to win a Cup. Maybe its our year, maybe not. I can guaranty you that only ONE team will end the year happy.

We dont have a coach. We have a gallant. He has no strategy. None whatsoever.
You should get on the horn to MSG ASAP! Let GG know what he's doing wrong.

Well for starters Stutzle has a guy like Tkachuk not far away . Plus....he is a better player all around ....better puck skills and edge work . Kakko and Laf will never be close to him IMO....and they likely will be solid 2nd liners eventually . Could be worse I guess . They will never be better because of the lack of skating skills . It is what it is and everybody likely would have made the same selections at that time . Now you see teams going off the board like the Habs....they changed it up on Kotkniemi[sp] pick and then avoided Wright for the Russian....so I guess they were not listening to the over hype......was it the right path ? Time will tell .

No reason to jump off a cliff. It sucked. Lead to start the third and then fall apart. I'll continue to give them the benefit of the doubt until Lindgren and Miller return. Hopefully, that is soon. Mikkola and Harpur playing 20+ mins every night and we wonder why the defense is struggling. I commend them for what the two of them have done shorthanded. However, they are not minute munchers. As far as the top-6, it needs time to click. I am not going to sit here and complain. Motte cheapshot pissed me off. The entire roster should've went down to the Senators locker room postgame and raised hell. I did not feel there was enough of a response for a fallen teammate.
Anyways, temper expectations Saturday, boys.

Also, good job by the Rangers yet again. Not that I was getting one when they cheap out and don't print jerseys with the nameplate, which infuriates me, but they apparently did not have enough number 8s that they produced 25, yes, 25 Kane jerseys. Embarrasssing. I mean, simply, embarrassing.

Yeah it is. So really hard to avoid those back to backs with travel.
I always thought they should go back to 78 game schedule....that would help a little bit.

Back-to-backs would be tolerable if (as someone suggested) they don't involve travel or they do the old "home and home" series where travel is minimal (i.e., NY/Boston, NY Phila.). But, of course, I'm thinking logically again and we know the NHL does not use logic.

Initial excitement and soon thereafter disappointment, like everyone else felt.
Where I may be different than the negative Nancy's (you know who you are) I take a long gander at what I just witnessed, pause and instead of feeling infuriated about the loss, (which in all actuality wasn't surprising because of the scircumstances) I can't help but gaze into the near future of this team and evaluate that this team is DESTINED to lift up that Cup, if not this year, then next. Maybe our kids "aren't ready", but they were last PO's, so maybe they are.
Tank and Kane add so much talent and the EXPERIENCE of Cup winners that this "has to be" the intangibles needed...similar to what Goodrow and Panarin have already experienced attempting to share with the youngins. 2X more.
With them, everybody else just has to play a role and do what they do.
There is a CUP to be had, it's instilled in them all now, the confidence has risen, just by looking around the locke room.
They just have to go and get it. It's there for the taking. I believe that Mika, Kreids and Fox can envision that by winning at least one cup, it will ensure their respective #'s will eventually rise to the rafters, while we look back at these additions and understanding that stressful hours and wonderful moments are upon us. NOW. Just look around, and appreciate every moment, be one of the fans that support them 100% don't be one of the ones that think they know better, ending up feeling like a traitor. Be grateful for what we have now, I know I am.
