Post-Game Talk: PGT: Rangers @ Sabres 4/19/13

... and yet, we saw evidence of class shown by one coach to another team just tonight. Get off your horse, buddy. You aren't riling anyone up but yourself.

Class to whom? To a team that has done nothing for him? How about class to the guy that is the only reason he still has a job? Lundqvist doesn't deserve class shown to him? It's like ****ing over your mother to save a stranger.

Unwritten rule almost cost Torts' team 2 goals and did cost 1 and maybe a Vezina for the goalie that's only reason that POS still has a job. Completely threw his life-line under the bus with that move. Unwritten rule my ass. Bill Belichick puts his starters on the field up 40 points in the 4th quarter. Torts can't put his regular PP on the ice with like 3 minutes to go in the game? If for no other reason than to prevent shorthanded chances and not take stupid penalties? Why respect the opponent when they score after you show this class?

Because we were up by 5 goals. There was no need to put our top guys on. The game was won.

Plus, let the 4th line get some minutes, they don't get to play much.

That is going to be a big worry going forward. All it takes is one fluke play.....

I really hope they manage to give Biron at least one full game in the next few days.

Biron won't see the ice unless we clinch AND there's nothing at stake in a given game (ie playoff positioning)

How do we know Tortorella didn't ask Lundqvist what he wanted to do? Lundqvist easily could've said he wanted to stay in.

And look at the end result: game ends closer than it should have been and it hurts Lundy's GAA.

It's as stupid as when Coughlin kept trusting Bradshaw and Nicks to play because they said they were ready to go. You should applaud their willingness to play but you should also be aware when a player needs to rest and heal up, and considering Lundqvist is going to be our go to guy down the stretch, Torts should pulled him out either way.

Score 8 goals.

Everyone still hates each other.

This whole attitude you have about how you should only show respect to other people if they've done something for you is way over the top. Do you have any idea what real respect actually is? The other team is your opponent. If they're playing in the same league as you, they've earned your respect. Period. This is very, very basic sportsmanship. It manifests differently in the NHL than in other sports, but the concept behind this is so basic, I have to start wondering if you're just trolling here.

How about put your top guys on so that they don't almost allow 2 goals? How about so that you don't throw your life-line under the bus? Geez if he was so worried about hurting the feelings of a bunch of professional athletes and coaches making millions of dollars, he could have told his top guys to just possess the puck and kill the 2 minutes without allowing shorthanded chances/taking penalties or scoring.

How did that playing your starters in the 4th quarter work out for the Pats this season when Gronk got hurt effectively killing their playoffs?

So Torts knew that Asham was gonna take a stupid penalty and that Eminger was going to deflect a shot that was going wide past Hank...:shakehead

Here's to hoping the next game has the Rangers up by 5 goals by the end of the first so Torts can at least sub in Biron for a bit.

You know, Ottawa is my #1 team (gotta support the hometown boys), and holy hell, you never know when a bunch of fluke injuries will hit. It is just so damned important to have both goalies ready to go...just in case.

There were a few moments in the second after Buffalo finally got on the board that had me wondering if there was an imminent collapse coming. Lundqvist did shut the door for a little while there.

Honestly, you might not agree, but to Tortorella, the rest of the players, me, and most likely Lundqvist too, the only thing that matters are wins. Leaving Lundqvist in made sure we got one. Who cares about the rest of the crap? Lundqvist might still win the Vezina.

Love it. HF logic goes something like this:

1) This gentleman/lady doesn't agree with me, I can't be wrong, so he must be a troll.

or

2) This gentleman/lady doesn't agree with me, I can't be wrong, so he's a homer.

Oh and the Sabres earned Torts' respect, but Lundqvist didn't?

Ya know, they certainly had minutes in these two games that make you shake your head.

But:

They won two must win games, the second on the road in the second of back to back games.

And they scored 14 freakin goals!

I'll take this result any day, any night. You can't ask for anything more. So be happy!

I'm not vomiting about him staying, I'm vomiting about how you're happy about it.

It is a team game and Torts is the coach. I am happy for the whole team, including the coach and the entire organization. Give up the hate for a night. It will do wonders.

Even then, you have to take into consideration Lundqvist being fatigued, and there have been times these last few games where he has done something that has made me cringe.

Biron has started in less games than any other back-up. That could very well bite us on the ass.

It didn't work out for him once. It also was in a much more violent sport. The Rangers except for one season have stayed relatively injury free. Their worst injury this year was a complete fluke that you see maybe once a season. How often do players get injured on the PP? And with that, no one is even saying anything about injuries all I read is the laughable "the 4th line deserved it" and the infinitely more laughable "it would hurt Buffalo's feelings if he didn't do it!".
