He's played with two of Jost, Girgs, Okposo, Asplund, Mitts and Olo about 92% of the time. He's been unsuccessful when put with those players, most of which are garbage, replacement level players. While you're right, it's a small sample size, I think it's important to note he was dominant when coupled with better wingers. -Agree to disagree on Mitts, while it's not a great stat, there's a reason he's the lowest +/- of the forward group.
There is a big reason for this and it's very simple. Mittelstadt and Olofsson have been out with the 3rd pair D guys more than the top four guys.

I can buy that. There's such a stark contrast between the top4 and that bottom pairing. Difficult to quantify how much is them and how much is the forward line, but even the Thompson line gets stalled by the Bryson pairing, so can't say it doesn't affect the results of that line.

224 minutes total, 68 minutes with neither of Dahlin/Power

I can't copy and paste from this article, but halfway down Granato says the defensive pairing assignments have limited the offensive chances of Mitts/Olofsson. He says the 1st and 2nd pairings usually go out with Thompson and Cozens, hampering the production for the Mittelstadt line.

I checked Thompson/Skinner and Cozens/Peterka to compare and they have very similar distribution of Dahlin/Power vs not as Mittelstadt/Olofsson. The numbers do not add up.

That’s the danger of basing the entirety of your opinions on stats.
You mean the danger of not taking 5 minutes to check whether the claims you're making are valid or not?

Funnily enough Krebs has actually played more with the 3rd pair guys than Mittelstadt has this season.

Since that article came out about Tage helping guide Krebs through the struggles he’s really seemed to gain confidence. Think next game it’s time to bump him up to the penthouse suite before Skinner comes back.

Someone - whether Tage or not - has told the kid he needs to start using his shot, and his game is so much better for it.
It's less about his (weak) shot, and more about going to the net and being less of a perimeter player. Columbus goal was going to the net and getting a good bounce. Pitt was a nice deflection from in front of the net. Last night was going to the net and gaining position on the D-man for a tap in. Olofsson did well in that regard also, but you have to play that way on a regular basis and be willing to fight through against better defensive teams.

I think 2 weeks ago he'd still be looking to pass in those situations. Not the deflection, but the others wouldn't shock me. I saw him actually shooting from the circles against Pitt

A few weeks ago with Mitts and Krebs struggling, several of us suggested putting one of them between Girgs and Okposo, where the winger will be where they should be and doing what they are supposed to be doing, reducing the variables down to just the player playing center. No better place to get Mitts/Krebs game back together because they would only have to worry about themselves.

Sabres picked Krebs and I think the results so far have been good. Personally, I wanted Krebs to go to the AHL and play big minutes as the #1 center under less pressure than the NHL, but if they are leaving him in the NHL, then I hope they keep him between Girgs and Okposo for 20 games to get him really solidified and comfortable with his role in the middle. Then maybe they try kicking him up to the 3rd line again.

Then we need to get in on Chychryn or Klingberg and keep building our forwards home grown

I thought Krebs was our best forward last night

He needs to practice face offs all off season. We can't have 4 centers all sub 50%. Or in Krebs case..well.

A fiesty, offensively crafty, engaged defensively 3C/W – who is a good player comparable if that's Krebsy's ceiling? I rarely watch other teams.

RNH stylistically. But I'd say he's a 50 point guy

Klingberg is awful and not what we need, no thanks.
