Arvidsson would be a decent 1 or 2 year contract guy but Lekkermaki isn't ready to be an NHL guy and 4th line duty with the Canucks isn't a good development plan either.

I'm also not sure what the plan is for Pods or if any of the guys in Abby are ready for full time NHL action either.

12 assists because he played on the 4th line for more than half the season before eventually moving up. 24 goals on the season, majority of them 5-on-5.
Hoglander doesn't really have the hockey IQ to be a top 6 guy thus the low assist totals for his NHL career.

It's not like in any of the lower levels that he has shown any real playmaking ability either.

If he was an average NHL skater he probably wouldn't;'t even be in the league.

Not impressed with the 24 goals? Will likely score over 30 next season playing in the top 9 for the full season and getting some time on PP2, only 23 years old.

' moved up' to a line where the other 2 combined for 9 goals in the last 40 games.

Homie was better off with Lafferty and the bois.

Sure the 24 goals is impressive but taken in isolation it's meaningless.

His shooting % was 20%, basically double his carrer average and the eye test, especially in the playoffs showed a player who doesn't ahve the IQ to be a solid top 6 guy.

He and the Canucks are better off with him being a 3rd line guy.

That hurts to hear, but I can't immediately dismiss it.

Pettersson could just be afraid and soft, but then that doesn't reconcile with Bubble Pettersson. Nor does him being afraid align with the start of the playoffs, as he was being questioned since the All-Star break.

He mentions a mental issue where Pettersson cannot flush bad play. This could be it, but if it is, then it's again not the heebeejeebees due to the playoffs.

So many questions as to what happened to him...

Mainboards is worse, people questioning his manhood, Petey-Out is becoming a term, shit just keeps piling up. Hopefully he uses it as fuel for motivation and proves all the haters wrong.

Nothing new - exact same thing happened with the Sedins.

I honestly think best case scenario is on Thurs we find out he was dealing with an injury that happened around the ASG. If there's no injury then there's a lot more questions that need to be asked....

Teravainen would actually be an interesting player assuming they can’t land the big fish. He might get priced out of Carolina if they sign Guentzel and/or with Jarvis’ new deal. Pretty talented all around player who can play up and down the lineup.

Would love to have Reinhart playing with Petey,
Patrick Kane too if he's available, dude is exactly what we need.
Doubt these two would come here though.

100% agree.

Sedin's didn't find their gear til ard year 5, and they never produced at the rate he's doing. Even without injuries, he's young and nerves are a thing. At his best, it's been argued he could be in discussions as one of the top 5 guys, but this isn't the first time he's had a lull.

He ain't even in his prime yet, and this was really his first playoffs. Real fans real energy real expectations. The bubble was just like a minor league atmosphere with your parents there, and they were literally gifted a spot based on %.

he's had his first opportunity to play through this atmosphere and learn from it. If he's like this after 3 or 4 playoff performances of total dogshit, go ham at questioning him. I have more faith he will become the player we believe he can be, than the one everyone's riding now.

Petey did look like a 19 year old rookie who seemed overwhelmed from the pace and physicality at times. But calling him scared weak and soft like these guys is a bit much.
He was playing in front of full SHL crowds, that are louder than NHL crowds, and went all the way to the championship.
