Que up the trade proposals. Canucks in for a doozie this year.

This will be HF in the trade threads after every Canucks loss

A first line winger, a starting goalie, and a very good prospect is not a bad return. Mikheyev is a middle-sixer, and Silovs wasn’t top five in save percentage last year. Lekkerimaki and Lysell might be close in value.
We already have Demko, we have prospects similar to Lysell’s caliber, and Debrusk is a 1B winger at best. Probably worse than the other Habs proposal

The point was, your proposal was trash and similar to my counter. And why would the Canucks want Swayman as a main piece of the trade when we have Demko? Your proposal was garbage lol.

Slafkovsky, multiple picks, and any of the young D not named Guhle, Hutson or Reinbacher
You could put them all in a package and it would still be underwhelming.

Quite honestly, Montreal is a team I wouldn’t even bother discussing trades with. Nothing really enticing back there. Same with Boston.

Your post didn’t say multiple 1sts, Slaf is a 1st overall but I have no idea how good he’ll be and your top 3 D prospects are off the table
1sts are picks. Nobody knows how good any prospect is going to be that's kinda how they work. From where do you think a more valuable young player than Slaf would be offered? Genuinely curious because that seems like quite an expectation

-Draftkings has the guy ranked 2nd for the selke next year
-102 points last season
-Could easily hit 50 goals within in the next 2 seasons when he hits his prime
-24 years old and another year until RFA
-owners an idiot and won't rebuild so im guessing it takes a quality young centre to keep the team competitive (i know that's an ironic statement) and two blue chips
-theres no pressure at this point ( if they crap the bed this year that changes), so unless the offer makes you feel very uncomfortable, it probably isn't enough....

Quite right, and immediately following the brief interview, Friedman also said:

“Is there a reason to panic here? Like, is he pulling the door on the Canucks?’ No, I don’t believe that,” said Friedman. “I think that he knows his next contract is going to be a big one, wherever it is, and I don’t think he’s worried about that. I just think he wants to make sure that he feels everything is going in the right direction. And I got the sense that he is confident in what they have. He just wants to see the results. And as long as the Canucks do, what he believes and what they’re selling him they can do. I don’t think this is going to be an issue. They know they’re going to have to pay him. I think they are prepared to pay them. They’re prepared to pay him long-term. I think the guy just wants to win and he wants to make sure that it’s going to be there.”

Friedman must get a big kick out of the way so many people respond to his every "thought".

I mean it's as if he were some great guru or something.
It’s almost like this is part of his job and he has a podcast based on his thoughts.

I will wait until the end of the year before I press the panic button, but if the Canucks end up losing their franchise player, it will be so depressing. There really hasn't been all that much to cheer about as a Canucks fan lately. Pettersson was one of the only few players worth watching the past 10 years, it's been a long brutal stretch of mediocrity and idiocracy from upper management. If the Canucks suck this year "which is a possibility" and we are forced to trade Pettersson, then this one will sting.

I kind of feel bad for Canucks fans.

This sucks.

Even with the orcas in the foreground and the mountains in the background can't keep Pettersson from leaving town.

He's always come across as a Karlsson type of personality - very, very confident and not afraid to speak his mind or speak very bluntly. Not a good or bad thing, just an observation.

If Petey walks and ownership refuses to trade Hughes, Demko, and Kuzmenko to properly rebuild, I'm done with this team.

I suspect many Canucks fans are in the same boat.
