I am so glad we have this for the next 8 years! It’s the worst possible hockey you can imagine and even when we had “stars” it was the exact same way. Championship or not, nobody should have even been signed for 8 years. At least other rebuilding teams show encouraging signs of growth and development. That doesn’t happen here and every offensive instinct these players have is to be forgotten
Got anyone in the ownership group with deep enough pockets for a buyout?

They'll never sell. Even when a group made up of the Wind (?) mobile guy and Greg Millen (plus others, I assume) offered about 10 years ago it was made clear they'd never sell. It's Peterborough, where we just get left behind in everything. It's always the good old 1950's here!

I’m not sure which player has been more disappointing Addy or Taylor. Addy is one of the biggest players on the ice but he doesn’t engage physically at all and Taylor is lost in the defensive zone and really only a threat offensively when he has a good shooting opportunity other then that I haven’t seen much from either to be excited about

Oh...I don't see that happening. I think the title in 2023 basically kept them afloat. We're stuck with this until Wilson decides to leave. They can't afford buyouts.
And the unfortunate part is no way Wilson will leave and void the contract because he is not proving that he is capable to leave and coach somewhere else. We are trapped

I meant coach buyout
If this continues next year as well then
I think there could be opt outs in his deal I’d be surprised if he was guaranteed the 8 years
If there was opt outs for Wilson there is no way he would use them if things continued. Wouldn’t willingly give up that money. But on the Petes side of things, i wouldn’t be surprised at all if they guaranteed the whole thing. Wilson is perceived as a God by the board and decision makers…

How fast you go from championship coach too questionable at best
A lot of negativity on this site recently with a lot of it aimed at the head coach. At this time the team lacks talent for a lot of reasons but one being so many young players. Let's remember the coach is not responsible for player acquisition, that is the GM's job. A few things that I notice, we had 3 average overagers. Now we have 4 which further complicates things. Braydon Mcallum has a lot of talent and in my opinion is one of the top 3 or 4 players on the team but at almost the quarter point of the season how much time has he spent on th ice helping his team? He was injured for several games and when in the lineup he spends away too much time in the penalty box. Yesterday was a perfect example, a 10 minute misconduct and a 5 minute major. Was their a reason for the misconduct other than selfishness. Obviously an attitude there. He could be a huge plus and difference maker on this team if he would just play the game . A lot of talent being wasted.

Wilson definitely has a lot of say when it comes to roster decisions and who they may trade or acquire

Walters was a big reason why Gavin departed the Attack .

He is a quality guy, will give you 110 % .

If things worked out differently, Gavin would have been the Attack captain now .
He is still very well liked and respected in OS .

He was supposed to be the cornerstone of our rebuild this year.
I can say Attack fans are very happy with the way this deal is working out.
That’s the main problem with the lack of success right now is Addy and Taylor haven’t progressed at all from last season. These are 2 key pieces that they need to produce and are hoping to build around. It’s only 18 games but they’ve yet to take a step up from last season. It’s definitely not all on them there’s older guys on the team who aren’t producing either

Are they? I can't figure out Owen Sound. They definitely won the deal with the Petes but Smith is a 2004/OA and McCue is a 2005/OA next year. They fleeced Oshawa as well in acquring Bedkowski (2006) and Delisle (2007) but despite winning big in these trades, I still see a team that's going to just middle along for the next few seasons with no real shot at winning in any of them.

I think Peterborough and Oshawa both lose their respective trades on paper but I also think they made them with a clear objective/target in mind that I don't really see from Owen Sound, who turned their assets into four players who don't really line up for a deep playoff run.

That's just my view from the outside though.

What were you expecting in Owen Sound this year ?

10 goals total between 3 OAs (leave out Bryant) Alot of neg on the young guys....leave them alone and let them develop.....Team is playing well and keeping it close, need veterans to win games when it matters.
True about the OA's (poor management decisions) but if Wilson had shown any ability to develop young players, then we might not be concerned about the lack of development of Taylor, Addy, etc. Wilson hasn't shown he can develop anyone. He's shown he can take a group of super skilled veterans and let them play enough to win, despite his coaching. No development has been shown, however. It's hard to have any faith in this coaching staff. I sure hope I'm wrong and these guys start scoring.
