Sports are great for quotes. Here are some appropriate quotes for the situation the Petes now find themselves in.
All of these quotes were said by "they"......as in, "you know what they say"

- The 4th win is always the hardest to get.

- Adversity is an opportunity for heroism.

- The harder the battle the sweeter the victory.

IMO, yesterday's loss hurts more than a 10-0 loss and I think that may be a good thing.
The last thing anyone needs is the coulda, woulda, shoulda talk. It's junior hockey and momentum is a thing.

The Petes should be able to use their bitterness from that loss to fuel their fire in game 6.

If someone told the Petes they would have an opportunity to win the series on home ice in Game 6, they would say “sign me up for that!” in a heartbeat. Well, here’s your opportunity so go out and win the game.

Its tough way to loose, but put yourself in Ottawas shoes. Top team, down 3 gms to 1 and down 4-1 entering third. Of course you are going to throw everthing at the Petes to stave off elimination. Lose 1-0 or 10-0, a loss is a loss. Regroup and whole new game.

I am so disturbed now -Ottawa completely obliterated us in 6 minutes.

We had no response -we couldn’t do anything

Shake it off Zebra!
The guys needed to be stronger on the puck defensively in the 3rd.
You are correct though - not a great response at 5-4. They need to be physical early and consistently in the game tomorrow night.
IMO they were less physical in the 3rd and that made things a little too comfortable for the 67s.
Fresh start 7:05 tomorrow.

That’s exactly it. Had to know Ottawa was going to come out flying with 20 minutes left to save their season and we simply got complacent up 4-1 and were thinking of the ECF. This is a kick in the gut for the fans but most importantly the players and coaches and you can bet that they are fuming and burning right now. Only option is to finish this series Monday night. Tomorrow is already sold out and it’s time be loud and proud and remember what we have not only accomplished so far but what we could accomplish Monday night. Peterborough is ready and let’s END THIS

Lets be honest, no one thought it would be over in 5. Now, yes very disappointing up 4-1 and give that game up. However, lots to learn from. Prior to the third, Petes could have made it 5 or 6 to 1 with the odd man rushes and point blank shots they had. Seems they froze in third. w atching the goals, they were all standing around in a square formation around the crease, without anyone taking their men or forcing the play defensively.
Live and learn and I am sure, now they know what to expect and can respond to it.

I am quiet because I feel sick !

So nervous about tonight.

I am still shell shocked from that meltdown.
We were sittin’ pretty cruising to the series win and in 6 minutes we were totally destroyed.

I don’t want to see anything like that ever again and I am a Leafs’ fan -you’d think I would used to it

What the boys are doing is impressive. They have found what playing for your team is all about! The comeback and tonight another scary third I’m not worried about. Ottawa is top tier in the league. What they did in the 3rd period with no forecheck pressure is what they did to teams all year. What they did the first 40 and all series was get dominated by a better team.

Remember when it was a waste of time for the petes to go all in? Bahahahaha. Junior hockey at its finest. Don’t count your chickens before they hatch! GO PETES GO!

Full team effort, after some push back at end of 1st Petes came storming out in 2nd. Ottawa good team, just not sure why so inconsistent in their play. Seemd to dominate when made the long dump in and race for puch (end of first) then stopped? Petes came out strong in third and that 5th goal the difference. Well done.

Sweet victory even though it caused much stress - hey I had a feeling the Petes had this though, Barrie wins to tie their series with North Bay so they have to play one more game while we rest.

We win one on the road in Eastern Conference final maybe two. We got this.
5-0 at home this playoffs! Helps that every game has been a sellout and the PMC has been absolutely rocking and loud

The Petes deserved to win this series. They played great defensive hockey, played disciplined and got timely goals. They did not let Ottawa play their style of game with the exception of the third period on Saturday and for a brief stretch late in the third. The first two playoff series reminds me of the Dick Todd years with the defence first philosophy and disciplined play. Ottawa had a great regular season but their youth caught up with them in the playoffs and they struggled against a more experienced team.

The Petes have been crazy good in the 2nd period throughout the playoffs.
Of the 10 second periods they have played the Petes have won eight and tied two - WOW!
In those 2nd periods the Petes out-scored Sudbury/Ottawa by a total score of 17 to 5.

Barrie & North Bay heading to Game 7........we'll be back on the rollercoaster later this week :DD
