Good luck to all you Peterborough Pete fans. Our guys took care of Oshawa but they played us hard even though it ended in 5. This should be a great series featuring two really good teams battling it out. Hopefully no salty fans from Sudbury troll both boards like last series...

Yes should be a good series between Petes and 67s. The 67s have been the most consistently good team in the OHL this year whereas the Petes, not so much. Lots of depth on both teams and good goaltending.

Though I give the edge to Ottawa on Defense and goalie positions , the Petes D has improved over the past few weeks. Also looks like the Petes top forward lines have found their jam. Begs the question, does Avon stay on the third line with Dubois and Melee?

For now, definitely.
Avon's speed adds an element to that line that keeps enough offensive pressure on the opposition rather than just falling into a defensive shell and holding on and hoping to finish the shift even.
It will be interesting how the line matching goes in game 1 on Friday.
3 more sleeps!!

Good morning Petes fan. Well we should have a good one. Petes seem to have finally found their groove. All year I was looking at your roster vs results and going wtf?? With Missy in the first half they were a big enigma. If they play up to their talent we should have a good series. I still think our depth and better D will win the day. 67's in six for me. Good luck and let's have some good hockey.

Just a little more discussion on Avon and the 3rd line.
I really expect Avon to be the X-factor that puts the Petes over the top vs Ottawa.
He gets lots of PP and PK time so it's not like he's "stuck" on the 3rd line.

IMO having him on the 3rd line means that he will be able to feast on the 67s young 3rd D pairing of Mews & Marelli.
Cameron definitely won't want those two on the ice against Lockhart/Beck/Stillman or Othmann/Robertson/Hayes so his choice, when he can match the lines at home, will be to play them against Avon/Dubois/Melee. Avon's speed should give these two guys all they can handle.

I expect the Petes to earn a hard fought split in Ottawa this weekend.
Also, you should expect to see more face washes than you would see at a daycare in June when it's popsicle time :cf:

well said as Avon is no doubt a large factor. Looked amazing in the whole Sudbury series but really found his stride in games 3 and 4. Ottawa fans are already saying we only have 2 lines but when Avon is on your third, I would like to think otherwise

I'm not exactly sure what to expect from this series, other than that I think it'll be close. I believe (from a quick look) that Ottawa took 5 of 7 during the season. That, combined with the massive gap in points indicates that the 67's are clearly the superior team.

But...the Petes have generally played them pretty well. And I don't think they're intimidated in any way going against the #1 team. The Petes looked pretty good against the Wolves, but I'm not getting too carried away with that. Sudbury is no Ottawa, and the Wolves helped the Petes immensely by taking so many penalties. So I don't think the first round is an indicator that the Petes have suddenly figured it out and got it together.

I'll say Ottawa in 6 very good games. But I hope I'm wrong and the Petes take it.

I agree with most of your post. I think we as fans got a little too excited and optimistic after beating Sudbury but a series win is a series win so good on the Petes. I hope that our power play can figure things out because special teams are very important. I won't make a prediction but let's hope for a series win.

Good luck to the Petes, I might try and get there after woirk tomorrow. Should be a good series

Regular season is just that and playoffs are a new animal. This is going to be tough series for both teams. Don't forget the 67's are a young team so anything can happen. Having said that I did predict that the Gens would take 2 from us and well I was wrong. For this series I'm predicting Ottawa in 6 hard fought games. I hope it's clean series with no cheap stuff....

I hope it's clean too but not betting on it. On the Petes side of things this will be a big challenge to stay out of the box. We mostly did against Sudbury even when we fell behind in the first three games. Ottawa has a way to make you pay with their PP which Sudbury struggled with.

Playoff game. Going to be close...cant make that mistake in offence faceoff and miss your man, too close a series. Also, need someone who can blaast the puck from blueline when goalie pulled instead of a weak wristshot.
