The kid has a great shot, is a good skater, plays aggresively should be put between JVR and Kessel.

Since randy likes to use shutdown lines:

Just make this one up:

McClement-Bozak-Kuliemin

Put holland back on the top line

That's the problem. He isn't really a shut down centre and his linemates aren't that offensively skilled either. We should consider sending him down to the AHL if he cannot play in an offensive role.

He should be used in a 3rd line role, but as seen during today's game he only played 5mins as a 4th line center. Better to send him down if he's not going to get play time.

Carlyle has said many times that if an offensive minded player is getting called up or on the team, he will be used in an offensive role. Another lie by Randy. Classic stuff.

If Holland is gonna play 5 mins a night send him down. I would rather lose the third.

Like the last 3 posts, it makes absolutely ZERO sense to be playing Holland for 5 minutes a night. We saw the same thing with Leivo and he flourished with added minutes.

Could be that Randy didn't feel he was making an impact in the game, but when you roster 6 center's atleast 1 is likely to suffer in ice time.

Get it together Randy. Please.

I really think Carlyle is killing his development. He only played 3:35 mins. We're going to give up a 2nd round pick for a player playing fourth line minutes..... At least let him play on the top line for the Marlies. FFS.

I must admit, no point wasting a game when he only plays 5 friggin minutes. Send him down.

This guy is not worth a 4th round pick, let alone a 2nd round pick.

Was Nonis smoking with Brad Ford again?

Rob Ford, first of all. And second of all, he's 22 years old and has never had a shot playing behind one of the deeper centre teams in the league in Anaheim. He's a ppg ahler with similar numbers to Nazem but without the half-season experience. Also, the reason why he isn't producing is because he's playing with Frazer McLaren and for five minutes per game in a defensive role. Hard to make the case that he's a bad player when we've barely seen the guy play.

Would be nice when we trade a 2nd + for a player to actually play him

Second round picks are so valuable that they don't even play in the nhl sometimes, lets cry over a second round pick because in 4 years we would be lucky for a second round pick to be in Hollands situation.

How awesome is it we get to give Anaheim a 2nd round pick so that we have someone to keep our bench warm? Maybe we can trade our 2016 2nd to Los Angeles and they can send us over a trainer or something, then we can have 2 benchwarmers :)

Play him or send him down. Having him on the ice for 3 and a half minutes with McLaren, etc isn't worth the difference between a 2nd and a 3rd :shakehead

Send him down, we're wasting games right now and Smith is playing well. No sense giving up a 2nd round pick for less than 5 minutes a game.

it's not that we hate giving up a 2nd to get Holland, that's fair imo but it's basically would you prefer to give up a 3rd or give up a 2nd and have the benefit of Holland on the ice 3 minutes a game with McLaren?

Playing Holland with McLaren for 3 minutes literally benefits nobody. We could put Smithson out there for those 3 minutes and we'd see no differene at all except we'd be stepping up to the podium to draft an hour earlier at next years draft.

If you're going to play him then play him 3rd line minutes so he can actually contribute and we'd get something for that 2nd this year, otherwise send him down have someone else do exactly what he's doing now and save the 2nd

They want to brainwash Holland for a little while before trusting him with bigger roles. He's learning the hard way, but he's probably loving life getting a chance in the NHL either way. We'll see him feature more when he finds a groove with us.

Need to see better hunger in his play away from the puck primarily. He looks ambitious with the puck on his stick, everything else is coasting. He's got the tools, no toolbox yet.

In general, we're a much better team when our Centers are effectively offering themselves as passing options on our breakouts. But, our centers are often leaving the zone too early looking for the stretch, or along the boards in a covered passing lane. Holland is one of those guys too often. Needs to show presence in his zone in many more ways.

You're never going to draft a Bergeron/Letang/Faulk if you're never picking.

come serious time...

Kessel-Kadri-JVR
Lupul-Holland-Kulemin
Clarkson-Bolland-Raymond
McClement-Smith-D'Amigo

Provided Holland is given the opportunity to break out at some point, and runs with it.
