Larsson is a better player than Barrie
I'd love to see your facts to back up that kind of statement, sir.
Larsson is a better player than Barrie
Larsson is on the upswing but he hasnt established himself to be better than a 2nd pairing guy yet.. Same can be said for Klefbom. It is really not a knock on Larsson when he is called a 2nd pairing player.
Larsson was 45th in the league in TOI\game (22:30) and 68th in shifts\game.
Not sure if I buy Chiarelli's comment that Larsson can play 26 or 28 mins \ game.
No player is as valuable as hf thinks. Most valuations are completely laughable.
No, but Hall really wasn't worth what HF thought or, more specifically, what Edmonton fans thought. I've been telling them for years D-men are more valuable then wingers, but "noooooooo". Yesterday was a great day for me.
Me: "How about Fowler + Ritchie + 2nd for Hall"
EDM fans: "Ha... you want Hall, we want Lindholm"
Me: "Nah... Lindholm is worth more".
EDM fans: " Hall is a top 3 LW. He's worth a #1D".
This just in, Hall has been trade for Adam Larsson in a 1-for-1.
Have to agree with you. I don't know how many Oiler fans said Hall would bring back Petro. They did get low value for Hall but he wasn't bringing back the caliber dman edm fans thought he would. If he was a center playing at that level then I could see it.
it just seems top centres and defenders are much more valuable in reality that HF people generally thinks, Edmonton have drafted too much wingers and now they need to fix that and price is ugly.
they will become a proper team eventually

Well he won't be playing with Greene in Edmonton and won't have Schneider behind him.I completely disagree. Larsson has already shown when paired with Greene that they were one of the best defensive pairings in the NHL. He was a + player on a significantly - team and together with Greene had the best GA/60 in the league.
This was playing some of the toughest minutes in the NHL. If you look at OppCF/60 the only players ahead of him and Greene were Keith, Hjallmarsson, Erik Johnson and Matt Hunwick.
While it's not clear how much Greene helped him (he definitely did) I think Larsson is already a top pairing dman based on his defense alone.
Every GM in the league is furiously rubbing their hands together like a cartoon villain with a scheme in mind.
Bergevin is doing it wrong
No, we need an offensive D.
To Edmonton
Shattenkirk
Vannelli
To St Louis
RNH
Conditional 1st if Shatty re-signs
Gives Edm a year to convince Shatty to re-sign and decide if cost is worth it and Vannelli gives them a prospective replacement if they dont.
This GM has Traded away Kessel, Seguin and now Hall
How does he still have a job
Because he has won cups and honestly...if we sign Lucic and Demers we are a better team than we were 48 hours prior. This GM has Traded away Kessel, Seguin and now Hall
How does he still have a job

They have to many centers not wingers. What winger do they have now?`None of really good caliber unless Puljo works out. While they have RNH as a third line center.
Btw, Edmonton have drafted a lot of d-men. They drafted 3 in the third round this years, pretty much only d-men last years beside McDavid etc, and do not forget players like Nurse and Klefbom. They have drafted d-men.
The only really bad top draft-pick they have done is Yakupov.
