I've seen 4-5 quotes from team executives saying they would have paid more for Hall had chia called them.

I highly doubt that. Chia would have done his due diligence months ago and contacted all the GMs. He was never going to get a #1 RHD so this deal is the closest and makes his team better.

The Vatanen dream is still alive. Just because he is signed doesnt make him off the market.

pretty much. If Draisaitl wasnt untouchable Subban would be an Oiler right now.

With Hall and possibly Eberle gone.. Yakupov would be worth keeping for the Oilers. The kid could take off in the "new culture".

Good one.

Good one.

Laraque and a few others reported it..
"In his report, Friedman goes over a lot of things that were already known, such as the Habs’ ask from the Oilers, a package of players that included Leon Draisaitl, Edmonton’s fourth pick in the 2016 draft, a defenceman like Oscar Klefbom or Darnell Nurse, and another asset. This massive ask was discussed on various Oilers radio shows at the time of the draft."

Chiarelli was willing to trade assets like Nurse, 1st etc but drew the line at Draisaitl as per Edm media (Rishaug)..

You're absolutely right and he would look beautiful slotting behind Larsson in the top 4. However, I don't see anything that the Oil could offer the Ducks to entice a deal.

Why does Colorado need another Center ? They already have Duchene and Mackinnen so is RNH forever a 3rd line center at 6.0m ? I dont think so!

Duchene can play RW or get traded for Trouba... atleast thats whats being discussed by media and on these boards.

COL just added Tyutin and Wiercoch on D so they are obviously preparing for something. They might also be in on Demers.

Eberle makes a lot more sense than RNH... Eberle + 1st (unprotected) or Reinhart would be my offer for Oilers.

ANA really hasnt added much via free agency and have only 8 signed forwards for next season..

Will go back to the Pouliot(retained) + Yakupov rumors that were floating around earlier. Maybe picks ( Oilers 2017 1st should be in play) or prospects if that is what ANA wants.

Doubt ANA will be interested in RNH or Eberle.

Just to get this out there:

Not interested in Eberle in the slightest. Especially considering what Oilers gave up for Larsson.

You might want to register your feelings with Joe Sakic

Oilers needed to move a 6m contract in a deal with Subban, hence, the principal could never have been Draisaitl. Mtl could ask, but that was unrealistic

So they were nowhere close to PK.

Colorado adding 3rd pairing/AHL fodder means they're moving on from Barrie?

As for your offer, it's horrible.

Nurse... not at all. Limited offensive vision in the O-zone. Klefbom is Klingberg-lite though. Big, extremely mobile, and has a booming slapper.

I'd be happy to trade Nurse+ for Barrie.
What's that plus?
Basically anything not a core piece. 2017 1st? Yak?

A. Nurse+ isn't enough
B. If we are acquiring Barrie, $6m+ in salary has to be going out.

Yakupov for sbisa

NO.

there would definitely be if Shattenkirk would sign that extension

AGREED ! Too bad Shattenkirk wouldn't sign an contract extension in Edmonton . Because, i think at this point that Nurse, Yakapov, & pick or, prospect for, an extended Shattenkirk is better than, anything involving Ryan Nugent Hopkins .

But, that's just my opinion .

If the Habs could've gotten Taylor Hall, no.4 (Puljujarvi), and Nurse for Subban ... they should've taken it and ran.

Is this person a reliable source? Never heard of them. All I know is Chiarelli said he was going to wait a little for the dust to settle before kicking tires again. And whatever happens you know he's not done.

Hes nailed many trades , signings, comtracts etc... But he has also been wrong on many occasions. However the last 3 days he pretty much nailed everything .

He called Brown being stripped of the C and given to Kopitar months ago. He called the Purcell signing today long before it was announced. He also broke few other signings and trades pretty much every year. Id say hes reliable to an extent.

He does Kings reporting and he's very hit and miss. Not sure about him having info on other teams

Wow, two franchise wingers (granted, one of them having only a potential label on him) and future top four defender would be a steep overprice even for someone like Subban. Even more so if he's the locker room cancer which seemingly is reported to be the case. No sane GM would ever pull the trigger. Hall for Larsson is far better trade, especially when you have a look at Larsson's contract.

That would be an underpay for Subban if anything. Defenseman are valuable. Unless you're Kane or Ovechkin, wingers are not valuable.
