Hey! You suck!
Generally I stay off of other teams boards, but since one of quotes was drug here I'll try to explain a bit and then move back into the shadows unless someone asks me something directly ( and I don't mind answering messages ).In his best year with NSH, he got alot out of his star players. Forsberg, Josi, Duchene, Johansen had career years during that year. And I think we have a better future young core than Nashville had.
So my concern isn't the youngsters, my biggest concern is still a Evason related problem - just how stubborn is he? Apparently he is also stubborn and that was what I was complaining the most about Dean. Again, if your prized prospect is Tolvanen, I think there's a bigger problem with your team.
I had the line of thinking you did when we brought Hynes in, Hall had his best season with him, New Jersey didn't have much, etc. It works for a while but you will quickly see why NJ and Nashville fans feel about him the way they do.
Just like with Hall in NJ he happened to have his best season in spite of Hynes rather than because of him. He was also given all the minutes he could handle and was given free reign to do what he wanted. It's the same reason Josi, Duchene, and Forsberg had their best seasons ( although Forsberg is blowing that out of the water currently ) under him.
The talk of the prospects comes to this, he will play the Vets over a young guy every single time, even if the younger player is out performing the Vet. He won't play the younger guys unless he is forced to ( was due to injury in Nashville ). We saw it with Tolvanen, Tomasino, and Fabbro. He will play the tweeners that have " grit " over the skill guys, and will want the skill guys to hit more.
Nothing wrong with giving a new coach the benefit of the doubt, several of us did with Hynes and ended up being some of the most vocal to get him out of town by the end.
