Toronto
Than Canada should start another league similar to CFL

I think realistically you guys could get Quebec city and Toronto 2 but that's about it unless u guys get 100 million population.
Non-premier league in Toronto? It will not be supported. Toronto despite being the biggest city in Canada by a wide margin, probably has the lowest level of support for the CFL. The exceptions are MLS which is the premier soccer league in North America, and the Marlies due to their Leafs affiliation. And a regional league to succeed in Canada likely needs support/footprint in Toronto and Montreal.

Skiing there is apparently amazing but according to my folks, bars and restaurants close really early there, especially on Sunday
Good luck getting a beer at 6pm on a Sunday evening
Dear god this takes like 30 seconds of looking online to see this is factually untrue. Several breweries open until 11pm as well as regular restaurants that I found in all of like 10 seconds. I knew that was untrue because...I live here, but still

100%.

Compared to Bear or Mammoth, I much prefer the ski resorts in Utah. There are 11 ski resorts within an hour of SLC. If you play ice hockey, it's less than half the cost than when I was playing in LA. Stick time is $8 here, and when I left CA, it was up to $20...no idea what it is now.

Some restaurants do close early here, and on Sunday most of the chains are closed. The state liquor stores are where you have to buy alcohol over 5%, but when I visit my family in CA, we just bootleg a trunk full of it (also against the law, yes I know). Those are the biggest downsides to Utah from what I can see, but I rarely drink so it isn't an issue personally.

I hope it does, and then when it collapses pretty quickly we can put an end to that idea once and for all.

Because ... it will collapse pretty quickly.

They would put a team in Ubekistan before they put another one in Quebec City.
There's a ... really ... simple solution for everyone who wants a team back in Quebec City: have someone who wants to own the team, who's willing to write a $1 billion check, who's got sufficient assets to fund losses for at least 7 years in some worst-case scenario without risking the solvency of the franchise when the owner's personal fortunes nosedive.

Nice job assuming you know an inch about what I'm feeling. This is such a poor take. Your biases appear to be clear and showing.

I am one Arizona fan who doesn't even live in Arizona. My opinions are my own. Don't paint all of Yotes fans with a brush just because of what I say, jesus.

I'm not sure in what world fans of a team are obligated to love hockey as a sport more than their own team, or in what world fans are expected to follow their team if they move to a totally different state and change their name, jerseys, location.

If that's the case where are all the Winnipeg fans who were supposed to follow their team to Arizona? Seems like the vast majority of Winnipeg fans I've met on here hated the Coyotes for taking their team. Don't recall anyone ever accusing them of "not really caring in the first place".

I've met some good Winnipeg fans too, who did become Arizona fans, but that's not the norm.

And unlike Winnipeg, Alex Meruelo has lied to us as fans as has the NHL for weeks/months.

If they're gonna treat me like shit, I'm not going to be a fan.

I'll go back to supporting my junior hockey team and not giving a shit about the NHL.

I don't even know why I'm responding to this since you're arguing in bad faith and have already made up your mind about how the fans in Arizona apparently are.

Plenty of Canadian fans only watch their own team, same with the USA teams. Watching playoffs with other teams and watching junior hockey or tournaments and posting on a message board isn't the norm, but I don't see you shitting on the TML fans who only watch 10 games a season. People can enjoy their hobbies in whatever way they damn well please and you don't get to make them out to be less of a fan because they aren't hardcore hockey fans.
If you don’t live in Arizona then why do you care if your favorite team resides in Arizona or Salt Lake? Games start the sane time.

Been racking my brain trying to come up with team names. I don't really see the owners having them play under the Salt Lake City moniker, like the Utah Jazz. SLC has more naming options tho. So far:

Utah Eclipse
Utah Yuccas
Utah Storm
Utah Yellowjackets
Utah Ultra (or Ultraviolet)
Utah Owls
Utah Yeoman
Does the Great Salt Lake have Urchins in it?

They could go with the Utah Urchins or they could go the mythological route and be the Utah Unicorns.

They would be morons to give up on the market. It's way too large of a market to ignore, especially when they've spent decades building it as a hockey market.

They will give up on the Coyotes, but if and when the arena situation is resolved, the NHL will absolutely return to the Phoenix area, it would idiotic not too.
IF and WHEN yes.

That is also pretty amazing in this

Arizona has been the worst run team in the league and as a reward he gets that right.
He gets that for shits and giggles means nothing

Don’t kid yourself they’ll write a check with our money like they do everything else. Quebec is the crack head son of Canada that gets anything they want
