Maybe just maybe its not Kapanen. Maybe its more him not gelling with Carter. People want to dump on Kap but he has looked better on Crosbys, Erods and TB's wing.

Yet he spent most of his time with Carter.

I still really like Carter and am glad to have him but I think fans went way overboard on that guy, in general.

Dude's quickly going the Sam Lafferty route of "start hot and then suck".

Maybe, but I'd also like to see him get some more consistent ice time. He's also not as terrible as Lafferty is defensively. All Lafferty has is his speed. DOC has moments where it seems like he's thinking the game at a higher level, but just doesn't have the experience or confidence to execute.

DOC is way smarter than Lafferty and doesn't take the dumb penalties. He needs to play with a center who isnt Boyle. When is the last time he played with someone other than a fringe NHL center.
