At some point the idea that the Pens can win with marginal guys playing up is simply not sustainable. Ducks hammered them in the end of the third and Pens were fortunate to win. Rust, Malkin and Jake are just to hard to lose and continue to win without them. But I do think all three will be back shortly say a week or so then all hands on deck.

you’re a Pens fan…how can you not think someone else will go down right before Geno is set to return to the lineup? Lol

"Week to week" means 28 days on average throughout Sully's reign. Think Bombulie did the leg work on that a while back.
Rust last played on Nov.21. So from the day following that (when announced) to now puts us at day 22. A week away makes sense.

Jake was also listed as week to week but is only on day 7. It's good to see him back on the ice, but even on the low-end I wouldn't expect him back for 2 weeks.

Malkin practicing hard with PP2 and taking part in optional skates tells me no more than a week too.

I fully accept that I will end up wrong about all 3.

If Malkin was only about a week from returning, wouldn't he be getting reps with PP1?

Isn't Zucker on PP2? :naughty:

But no I agree it's a bit odd. It's tough to gauge by like 20 second video clips but Malkin looking awfully strong on his skates/puck. You'd figure it was a matter of time but you're right... still no major participation in practice and still a white jersey.

I'd hope to chalk it up to caution. We'll see.
