Definitely is. All Guentzel would have done here is maybe get us a first round exit, if others have a good year. It's a complete waste of cap space, given where the team is at.

A cheapish, 1 year cap dump who is 25 and will be an RFA, sounds like a solid deal for me.

Pens are going to ice all forwards, no defense, and you won't notice the difference.
Franca is 2 things jack and shit, he hits stuff, punches things then gets hurt alot, barely an AHLer, Cody Glass is at least an NHL player.

It's pretty awesome how this team has been blowing wads of cap on depth players for the last like seven seasons and they keep on failing at it. I'm sure this will all be different, though.

We have Puljujarvi who was 4OV in 2016 as well. Collecting those high draft picks!
WBS needs good players too. He's someone that could really help guys like Pono and Koivunen.

It would make a lot of sense to me to not be shy about waiving one or more of Acciari, Glass, Hayes if they don’t play well.
Ofc the Pens don’t always make sense.

Any team that has the cap space to take a guy like Acciari and/or Eller also have the ability to offer sheet or trade for Robertson.
