Head Coach: Gerard Gallant
Assistant Coach: Bruce Boudreau (if he would)
Assistant Coach: Matt Cullen
Assistant Coach: Trevor Daley

Only thing there might be getting a 3C but there is a ton of money and assets to do so. Toss money at Stephenson would be my preference.
Gallant seems to wear out his welcome very fast. How about Craig Berube? He’s won a cup

God Canucks fans are insufferable. Every single Guentzel thread is just Canucks fans trying to lowball Penguins fans, as if there aren't half a dozen other teams interested in Guentzel.

"We're not trading Hoglander for a rental", okay good talk, then you won't be getting Guentzel.

That is every fan from every team on the trade board.

Or the seller team's fans with ridiculous expectations as to the return.

It is why I rarely go there.

If I thought they were going to fire Sullivan... and I don't... I would hope the team hones in more on a developmental style coach rather than a "competing" coach. I've had more than enough of watching a team dress old scrubs simply because they're old and "give us the best chance to win." Or guys like Harkins because they "play the right way."

Would be nice to have a staff that is interested in trying to develop talent first and foremost. Since evidently developing young talent AND competing at the same time is WAY too hard for most NHL coaches to grasp unless they accidentally stumble upon it.

If there's going to be a legitimate attempt to shed most of the veterans and make the roster younger, I'd try to get Boudreau out of retirement. He strikes me as a good coach for a young up-and-coming team.

Agree, but I'd fire him the moment they show signs of being competitive again, he's anus come playoffs.

If you can pull in about 3 guys - 2 young studs and a speedy wing to rejuvinate the roster a bit, I think BB would be a good candidate because he would let the guys play an upbeat offense first style that they seem to like.

If you can go: Smith for Mikheyev and Jake for Brisson+Dorofeyev - you can do that.

True but just getting to the playoffs is the win.

I'm not sure why they can't figure out a banger 4th line is the way to go. Similar to Islanders and Florida. It would save cap and allow for a bit of a deterrent. Obviously the Islanders overpay but, a line with those types of players.

Lo-f***ing-l at someone on the main boards saying they wouldn't deal Hoglander straight up for Jake.

I remember my first beer ...

Wouldn't it be something if Jake took one for the team here, f***s off for a big rental package and a shot at the cup and comes back and signs with us in July!!
IF he gets to 7/1 unsigned I believe he's stupid enough to come back.

Hopefully Jake is moved by thurs.

Part of me hopes they keep Sullivan. I've been looking to take up a new hobby and that would free up a lot of time for me to get started.
I started the year watching them regularly because I had hopes that Dubas' moves would fix the team despite Sullivan still being here.

When that hope proved ill founded I kinda stopped paying attention. I still watch but half the time I'm doing something else at the same time and the Pens game is just background noise that I occasionally pay attention to.

I'm sure I'll trick myself into getting some level of optimism about them this off season but if Sullivan is still here it will be hard even for me to feel hopeful. And I'm a glass half full kinda guy.

I was (foolishly) very invested to start the year. After about two months it was pretty obvious what was going on here and I more or less checked out. I'll still pop most of the games on but it's a mixture of gallows humor and background noise at this point.

I could see that happening tbh. Especially if he wins a cup. And my feelings are if a team like Edmonton, Vancouver or Vegas adds Jake they are winning the cup.
I would most certainly put conditions on any picks we acquire, if such teams go deeper with each passing round, (in particular the conf and finals) they sweeten the pick, or picks. I'm rooting for VAN. JR is generous with his return on trades. Sakic and Yzerman would be the worst to deal with.
