Make take on Poulin: Give me someone new, even if he's shit, at least he's new shit, not old shit.
Isn't he emotionally fragile? Not meant to be mean, but he's probably in a good routine down there and we wouldn't want to disturb that.

Yeah I think he’s looked and is gonna look similar to Harkins talent wise in the NHL, but makes no sense to not get a look at him before he is waiver eligible next season.

Also he’s a 1st round pick? Why are we not bending over backwards to give him opportunity?
I think he's in a good place there, sincerely! And the parent club to their credit doesn't want to make waves or put undo pressure on the young man.

I don't know where to post this but Lebrun has an article on the athletic with Dubas. Has anybody read it? Anything good?
“We’re still in it, in the wild-card race and in our division,’’ insisted Dubas. “We just have to be stacking more wins together, having had a better week last week and I’m excited to see how we handle the weeks ahead.’’

"I could feel internally the disappointment in seeing Jake walk out the door,’’ Dubas said. “And I understand that. He was a key member of the last Stanley Cup the team won, as a younger player coming up with the group. He’s a great, character person, everyone knows he’s a tremendous competitor.

“It’s tough when you have to make those decisions,’’ added Dubas. “But you have to always do what you believe is best for the long term of the organization and my sights were set on giving the team as long as possible to assert itself more in the race. The other part was getting back a roster player that could help us as well in addition to the future assets.’’

“I think you’d be remiss not to seek his opinion and how he’s feeling,’’ Dubas said. “Obviously he’s done so much for the city of Pittsburgh and for the Penguins. … I want his opinion, I value his opinion.

“We may not always agree and I might have to do things in the short run he disagrees with.’’

This summer, Crosby will be one year from the expiry of his contract. This is a natural window for a player of his stature to sit down with the organization to discuss the future, both the team’s and his own. We’ll see where those conversations go.

“Sure, I think that will be a private discussion with Sid, myself and (agent) Pat Brisson once the season is over,’’ Dubas said.

“But I think everyone’s been pretty clear on where they stand on the fact everyone would like to see him end his career in Pittsburgh and it’s my intention that in those years that we’re back and definitively contending.’’

“It’s trying to find our own group of younger players who can come in and support the team, you never know how long that’s going to take,’’ Dubas said of the re-tool in the next few years. “And it’s never certain. Any maneuvers we can take, we want to give ourselves the assets to be able to get into those conversations this summer for good, young players who come available in trades or younger players in free agency.

“That’s our intention at this stage.’’

as I said. A whooooole lottta cope going on despite the reality of what Dubas has shown us.

Dude loves Sully.

Dude gave up value to get back Bunting in the Jake trade.

Dude is a failure of a GM just like in Toronto.
Find another team then. Dubas is here for at least 7 years. Bunting has been good. You're just trolling the team. Nothing they do you agree with. Follow the putrid Ducks, worst run team in the league.

Yep, it’s clear from all the statements he’s given that he cannot fire Sullivan lol so he has to spout over the top nonsense about him

I was informed by an expert on here that Dubas praising Sully meant he truly believed in him.

Guess we all can't be right all the time...

I think you need to think seriously about what you owe this team, son. And make sure you address Kyle Dubas properly from now on!

You keep saying this but never back it up.

What "value" did Dubas give up in the trade?

He also places Rust in the “core” along with Sullivan, Sid, Geno, Letang and EK lol…Folks, Sullivan isn’t going anywhere so I won’t be watching next season unless some other exciting young players are playing 15 min a night in the top six lol
Every time Dubas opens his mouth and talks about Sullivan and his belief in him, it's like opening up Instagram and seeing a picture of your ex and the guy she cheated on you with posing with the lottery check they just won.

Hextall and JR loved Sully too so whatever. It seems that whatever gm we get stuck with is camp Sully.

I don't think any moves Dubas makes are gonna matter though if he insists on doubling down on this coach. And that sucks.

Answer is somewhere between imo. Dubas sat on his hands for half a year watching this shitshow unfold and did nothing - that's a failure by any account plain and simple. No excuse for that no matter what mental gymnastics you play.

The trades, debate them all day.

Same with the signings.

I'm not sure what it is so hard to understand here.

The Penguins gave up value in the trade to get Bunting back.

He was considered a positive asset.

Bunting is a roster player, and cost controlled, and got thrown in for salary in a pure rental trade. Not sure what the gripe is.

Maybe let's give him a few more games, especially into next season with (hopefully) new coach/new system. EVERYONE looks bad here. We ALL know why. But the thing with Bunting versus someone like Smith - is that he's not vanilla and actually brings something to this club we need...and at a reasonable cost.

You saying that over and over doesn't make it true.

Are you saying that the Penguins had more valuable trades on the table? If so, what were they specifically and cite your sources.

Or are you saying Carolina would have given us "better" prospects? If so, what prospects specifically and cite your sources?

Or are you just talking out of your ass because you want to pout about Dubas like the rest of the muppets here.

Sullivan is part of the core. I wish the Pens would move on from him too, but there has to be a behind the scenes reason for him to still be here. Maybe his personality can keep the who’s in the dressing room in check?
