It's no more Hextall's fault for not caving into Malkin's demands than it is Malkin's fault for not caving into Hextall's demand.

Like there are 2 parties here. If the sides agree on the money but they don't sign because of a 1 year difference, that is absolutely on both sides. I would be irritated with both sides if Malkin was at $6 million for 4 years and Hextall was at $6 million for 3 years but they couldn't figure out how to make that work.
 
I dunno. I feel like if I'm Malkin and I see Letang get six years then I don't feel too bad about being like "uh... how about one more year while we're obviously feeling generous."

But I know I know... Letang is this incredible player that the team absolutely cannot do without and Malkin is basically pond scum that is lucky to even get an offer. So you cannot compare.

Ehhh Hextall made it work for Letang by adding an extra year. He set the game.

Sure there are two parties but it is insulating to go out of your way for one franchise player and not the other. Injury’s are whatever. Only the next 2-3 years actually matter

If it’s over 1 meaningless year that’s on hextall

I forgot, you can't say anything with nuance in here about Malkin. Never mind I'll move on and talk about other stuff, since no one here is okay with anything outside of "Hextall should be giving Malkin anything he wants yesterday".

If they don't sign Malkin, it is probably because of His playoffs performances and slumps and bizarre penalties... They seem to know His value is only 3 more years somehow.. I don't know.. Malkin seems like He is frustrating them..
 
I don't even think Geno finishes a 4-year deal, tbh. Dude plays a style that means his body's taking a beating night in and night out, he's "unga bunga me stronk Russian" so he won't ever back down from the rough stuff, even if he should.

They'll both be LTIRetired by year 4, probably. :laugh:

If Geno can be had for roughly Letang's AAV, f*** it. It doesn't matter anymore--none of this matters. Hextall's probably not gonna do the work to cut deadweight and go after a significant addition to the degree of a JT Miller or Forsberg, so f*** it. Mediocre, boring hockey ad infinitum!

Sure you can. But people are allowed to have the other opinion as well and don’t have to agree.

6x4 Or 6x3 That’s on Hextall.

That 4th year means nothing. Jake could be gone and they will be trash. They won’t need cap space. It’s basically just giving Geno 6 mill for what he’s done for the franchise.

Your just misunderstanding how I use chat words is all. Kind of like a language barrier thing... never said I was good a proper grammar. I do know that sometimes you capitalize He/She , I'm just not sure when... Should have went to college but when I was going to make that decision I had severe seizure got diagnosed with brain cancer...
