Couldn't one make an argument a shakeup is legit what the team needs? If G comes back - cool. He's going to play with meh players. He probably will miss 20 games. I will love him to death because he got us 3 Cups. It is what it is.

If he goes elsewhere, this team is different and different is probably needed at this point.

Different doesn't necessarily mean better. But it might.

We'll have to see what the cap is spent on.

I think Geno would be very helpful on the PP in the playoffs. Despite what hot garbage the first powerplay was against NYR this last year.

I don't think GCR nor Letang are great powerplay players. Geno's shot isn't what it was but there's no other lefty bomb available. Maybe we try Matheson but I don't think his slapper is all that accurate TBH.

Ehhh 2 months ago I was hoping for a new coach and voice along with watching Geno, Letang and Sid have one last go.

Yeah leaking that you're testing the free agent market because the Penguins are offering you $250k a year less than you want would be a downright moronic decision.

Malkin's agent is leaking that Malkin is testing the UFA market because he's either pissed at the Penguins for not meeting his demands sooner or he wasn't being honest about what he wanted to re-sign with the Penguins for. You don't leak "my client is testing the UFA market" over $1 million over a 4 year contract when you've earned more than $100 million in your career.

But that difference in $1m takes him from T-2nd highest paid player on the team to 4th. Maybe 5th depending on who comes in.
