He had to create it, rather than just having it fall into his lap, which limited his options in how to fill it as he had to do a money for money move rather than just mugging a team.

And he got very unlucky with injuries per Penguins standard. I for one am looking forwards to Reilly Smith breaking both legs while helping a granny across the road.

Okay. But, they did.

And please don't show me some blue chart.

The issue with the D last year was not the subtraction of Marino and Matheson for Petry and Rutta.

They literally did not.

I like how your argument is just "it's true because I say so" but anyone else bringing up things like analytics or those JFresh charts means nothing.

I already said how it was true.

Petry produced at the same level as Matheson in less games and playing more difficult minutes.

Rutta and Marino's comparative play in the season before (When Marino was here) and last season was insignificant. Especially when factoring in the cap.

Dumoulin and Letang were largely the issues with our D and the fact Petry and Rutta were hurt for 20+ games.

Anyhow, I think we should all resign ourselves to Carter and Granlund being on the 3rd line come opening night now, so it feels less irritating when it inevitably does happen.

What about an unfancy chart?

I've been a clear Petry defender here, but anyone acting like he was anything but super mediocre last year is kidding themselves. He was just bland and okay across the board. He was a physical minute eater with mediocre analytics and mediocre production. He was nothing more than mediocre or fine in pretty much all aspects.

He's a bland minute eater who does a lot of things okay but nothing great anymore.

I've been resigned to that fact since Dubas' press conference where he said he was going to rebuild the farm.
A maverick like him?! Can’t be. It’s probably the bad AGMs leading the good PoHO astray.
Anyone think Dubas trades Rutta and brings in Gudas?
I would see the merit in that in a way, but Sullivan will not play Gudas and so it’s be a waste of time and an asset. It’s hopefully a moot point.

Cap space is worth a ton but we didn’t buy out Granlund.

Shewed GMing.

Let’s hope this is Dubas’ only blunder before the season starts.

Weird how you think this player has the ability to be moved for nothing or a return in the trade forum...
