alright alright, no need to panic.

On a side note....this Vegas team is incredible.

Mario Lemieux would never, EVER sit out a playoff game if he was able to partake in the pregame skate.

That boy Geno needs to man up or he WILL be gone this offseason.

That's not fair at all. We have no idea the extent of his injury. The game was vastly different for 90% of Mario's time. If Geno can't skate effectively he would not help this team. The game's too fast.

JR's watching and cackling because of how he left due to Burkle and Mario and Morehouse, not letting him trade for Fleury. And now Jarry is shitting the bed

Can you imagine what this roster would be like if they had to carry Fleury's cap hit?

The dude plays in front of a phenominal structural team. You don't get Vegas Fleury with a team that plays like the Pens.

LOL at people saying Trotz owned Sullivan. What the f*** are you watching? Like really. I'm being serious. What-the-f***-are-you-watching?

It's ok to be disappointed. Can we take a breath here?
They are ridiculous tbh.

If Jarry didn’t allow softies the whole game they would be telling us about how Sully finally found a way to beat Tortz system and owned him.

The NZ was wide open and the Islanders were not able to cycle the puck in our zone.

It's going to be sad to look back on the Crosby/Malkin/Letang era if they ended up botching the remaining years of their contending window because they decided to go cheap in net.

It's not like the decisions were even bad at the time, either. Going with Murray and moving on from Fleury was objectively the right decision. Giving the reigns to Jarry and trading Murray was objectively the right decision. But man, it doesn't matter what the "objectively right" decision is in 5 years if we're looking back on bad playoff losses from 2018-2024 due to subpar goaltending.

Sad isn’t the adjective that comes to mind when looking back on the core of any team that won 3 cups no matter the circumstances.

I know we just lost the first game of the playoffs, but some need to ease up on the drama.

Were you not sad about how the 1993-2001 Penguins era went just because they won in 1991 and 1992?

Yeah, I mean. Look at the 2nd and 3rd best teams in our era. Boston won 2 less cups. Chicago has been a nonfactor for 5 years.

Will Jarry rebound after that disaster? Ceci was having a nice stroll on that second goal. Letang was the only Dman I thought had a good game.

Pretty disappointing to blow a third period goal.

Honestly if we struggle this badly with a not very good Islanders team that has played poorly down the stretch, then we have no shot against the better teams anyway. Might as well rip the bandaid off quickly and go out in the first round. I am not interested watching watching more crap like we watched today.

we are not winning shit with Jake, Rust JC, McCann and Zucker doing nothing...don't care about Jarry, even with his shitty play we still did not get anything from our Top 6 forwards except Sid and Kappy

Rust has done shit all for a while now. Tonight he was really bad. Turnovers at the blueline, trying to be fancy when he should just be shooting, etc.

Okay? That's not the question I asked.

I can be overall satisfied with how the Crosby and Malkin era went while being disappointed if their last 5 or so playoff appearances go out in farts.

I mean you can do whatever you want Empoleon.

Blaming cheap goaltending is silly when the teams with the best goaltending have largely lost the same way we have.

Humans have a tendency to overcomplicate things. We started great. Jarry sucked. We got tight. Jarry sucked again. We lost. The end.

Game two is simple. We need steady goaltending, and we need 71 back. But we absolutely need steady goaltending. Sullivan did fine.

Let's see how they respond before we write the whole thing off.

The team has responded well after disappointing games this year.

Honestly, the only two changes I'm concerned about, is cutting down the chances the Isles get on the rush with system changes by Sully, and our goalie playing like he belongs in the NHL.

That's literally it, and they should win more than not. If those don't happen clearly changes need be made.

Yep. Rust f***ing blows right now and people are blinded by his numbers. Last year he was actually a difference maker and then we broke up the ice that made him such in the playoffs 'cos.

Not really, but then again I’m realistic and know that the franchise isn’t going to win every Stanley Cup for the rest of existence.

You are aware that there is a cataclysmic difference between the 2018-2020 Penguins and winning a cup, right? Being sad that they're playing like they have in 2018-2020 doesn't mean that I'd be mad about anything that isn't a cup.

I forgot, people here are incapable of talking in nuance.
