Fantilli 22 minutes TOI, 0 shots on goal

Might need to start pulling back minutes on wonder kid who can’t outscore Mathieu Olivier

Gibson masterclass. I really don't mind this game nor last night's one despite getting no points from either. Passing and overall connectivity were bad to start but the 2nd and 3rd periods both looked good.

I was thoroughly entertained. Sneaky fun group you’ve got there (Marchenko and Chinakov in particular) and I hope we get to experience the joy that you have with an actual NHL coach back there.

I have no problem with how they played tonight. Play the same way and they'll win that game 75% of the time.
Agree. I liked their play, too. A big problem with the current roster is they just don’t have guys who can consistently put the puck in the net. Chinakov, Marchenko, Monahan and maybe Voronkov (18 goals last year) are the only real 20 goal threats and only Marchenko has shown he can be a 30 goal guy. This offense misses Boone and KJ.

Yeah but it's not so comforting that you could say that about each of the last three games (not quite 75% vs the Kings but they had most of the chances that game too). The last 9 periods would look pretty good if you just didn't know the score.

Fantilli had a lot of looks tonight. He was an inch from the goal there. And could have shot more. I think with more time next to Monahan his confidence will get up and the puck will start going in. This game was a big change in the positive direction for Fantilli.

Think Fantilli is pressing. Feel like he's been a bit out of control. Pucks bouncing off his stick and not letting plays fully develop. Would like to see him with KJ when he's back. Someone to do the majority of the playmaking and let Fantilli finish

Funny how it worked out but Brindly is actually the perfect player for him, maybe someday down the line we'll see it. Fantilli is kind of the MacKinnon formula which for 99% of players is a horrible idea but I think once it clicks for Fantilli it's really gonna click. Took MacK 4 years to find that, let's hope it's less for Adam

I watched the game.

  • Adam seems to lack confidence. I can't explain it any other way.
  • I really like the Chinakhov-Voronkov and Danforth-Olivier pairings (mean chemistry).
  • I didn't get what the defense (not just the defensemen) were doing in the DZ. Especially in front of Daniil. That was guarding the corn, the red carpet, the bread and salt in still missed. :sarcasm:
  • On offense I liked the team, pretty good transition, unfortunately, not only did Gibson have his day, but not all players have a good shot.
  • I think Tarasov played good.
  • Werenski and Severson played very good with the puck, in offense together.
  • Overall, can see the system, the combativeness. And that's what I like. :thumbu:
