the Pens should probably stop extending players half way through the season. with the exception of Guentzel, just about everyone JR has extended half way through the season has taken a nose dive in terms of performance.

Pettersson was perfectly solid but now that he got his money, he's one of the worst defenseman on the team.

Yeah Trotman isn’t good but I don’t think saying Trotman was directly responsible for the 3rd is accurate. He got it to a teammate from a dangerous position.

If he threw it anywhere... anywhere but right up to the high slot... I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. If he threw it to the boards or behind the net and the ducks worked a goal out of it, yeah... that could slide, but having the time to not throw it up the center of the ice haphazardly which results directly in a goal... I am going to give him the blame.

It's falling apart. Fundamentally the defense is Letang + AHL at this point. This is dressing an AHL defense at the NHL level.

I mean I admire how well your squad has weathered the insane injury storm so far, there are bound to be games like this once that hits the defense though.

For the record, my team also absolutely faceplanted on the California swing when they did it in January, think 1-2-0 or 0-2-1 or something like that. Probably the legal weed.

I'm convinced they will. Once they get possession in the zone things are fine. In transition? D zone? Neutral zone regrouping? It's a mess. Who happen to be good at those things? Oh yeah....

It's pretty hard to screw up your best 6 defenders/pairings atm and they screwed almost every single aspect of the D up save for MP-JS as the 2nd pairing.

Well I want to agree because the team I saw this year actually was playing like the best team in the NHL. Even in games they lost early on, they were relentless.

Right now.. this seriously looks like the 2012 or 2013 Pens. Just so weird.
