Unfortunately it needs to be said, but the goaltending hasn’t been great for a while on balance.
Teams know to crash and bang against us because it works like half of the time. The goals scored against us have been within 2 or 3 feet for what feels like forever.

I'm sorry but this Pens team as of late reeks of first round exit (if they make the playoffs), not even winning a game

just like last year

I mean I admire how well your squad has weathered the insane injury storm so far, there are bound to be games like this once that hits the defense though.

For the record, my team also absolutely faceplanted on the California swing when they did it in January, think 1-2-0 or 0-2-1 or something like that. Probably the legal weed.

To be honest this is the comedown off of the truly awful play beforehand.

*Game against Toronto where they won and scored insanely pretty goals but got caved for the most part. Some of the showboating on this board and other corners of Pens fandom was extremely premature there.
*Return Game against Toronto where they got stomped
*Then Buffalo embarrassed them epically.

They have actually been the better team in the last 3 games which is a big improvement. But they are snakebit and no one's consistently producing outside of Malkin (and he's gone insane this game).

Well I want to agree because the team I saw this year actually was playing like the best team in the NHL. Even in games they lost early on, they were relentless.

Right now.. this seriously looks like the 2012 or 2013 Pens. Just so weird.
Right...but teams weren't playing all-out like we were. Now they are.

It's like "give me the D+pairs that puts us in a tailspin right now".
Sully..."comin' right up".
Hit almost all the marks.

2012 post Crosby comeback. Were supposed to win it all (truly, they were), were amazing for like 6 games and then spiraled into nothingness.

Is this where the players start to get that 'ehhhh who cares anymore' attitude and they just go through to motions every game just waiting for it all to end and be done with it?

Not yet.
Theres still one more potential push when two top 4 defenders get back in the lineup.

Stop setting up guys like Sheary and Simon for prime scoring opportunities. The 3rd wheels on this team aren't doing what they're supposed to be doing . It's all backwards right now. Move Tanev up.

If he threw it anywhere... anywhere but right up to the high slot... I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. If he threw it to the boards or behind the net and the ducks worked a goal out of it, yeah... that could slide, but having the time to not throw it up the center of the ice haphazardly which results directly in a goal... I am going to give him the blame.

How does he know he has time? Loose puck in front of the goal he can’t turn his head he has to get it away from goal. It went straight to Malkin who didn’t control it (he should have been able too).

Sometimes shit happens.

I just cannot use the injuries as an excuse, some of these teams that are beating the Penguins have guys out too and the Pens have made a pretty good run out of the season with those guys gone. This is just some horrible coaching right now and a team that has lost a lot of composure and some very very questionable coaching decisions with the line-up.

Like the Ducks, that roster is trash. Pens should be running a train on them right now.
