If Lindy Ruff and this band of misfits are behind the bench to begin next season, I will personally fund a sky writer to shit all over the team for all 41 home games.

Keep them in the job is tacit approval. Punting the season doesn't mean you actively watch them get worse every night.

If our goaltending is gonna suck anyway, I'd rather lose 5-4 or 6-4 or 7-5 every night.

Just open it the f*** up.

All these losses while only scoring 2 goals are insufferable.
 
I would rather watch them lose a low scoring game than watch another game like Winnipeg again. Those games aren’t fun if you are on the losing end. I at least made it through this entire game with faint hope (I mean I knew they were going to lose the entire time, but I didn’t want to throw a brick through my tv).

We lose low scoring games (on our end) just about every game. Vegas game is the only one we've scored more than 2 non-empty net goals since the Winnipeg game and the Flyers win was the only other game where we've scored 3 (including the empty netter) since that one.
 
Liking McLeod and Studenic's general aggression. Johnsson continues to skate well but his finish has returned to earth. Through 30 games, who are your most reliable Devils, even factoring in injuries (so Nico should be considered)?

Siegenthaler, Bratt, Hamilton, McLeod....any others? Johnsson and Mercer are just outside that category but I could see how one would make the case.

Zacha, Graves, Nico are probably in the tier below that.

Any updates on Tyce, Nico or Gravey?

I fully understand they are going to lose both types of games. I rather go through a bad season watching 2013-14 season type games than have the wild score type games.
 
Don't care what you guys say, Torts would have benched Hughes and have him sit the next game or play 4th line minutes after a game like this. Not saying it'd be the wrong thing to do, but few games like this under Torts and Hughes would be playing like he's Andy Greene. Just a terrible game by Jack.

Yeah we should just keep doing the opposite where he’s gifted playing time and billboards before he’s proven anything and no matter how he plays.

Truly a culture of accountability we are building here.

Kid should probably be in the AHL but this is a management group that has given the car keys to a kid who doesn’t even have a license yet so…
 
Coach Ruff is the problem and until management makes a change you will think it is the players. I have watched the Devils since 1987, this is how players respond when they know the coach is done. They realize he will get the blame more than they will. It is over, I feel sorry for Ruff because he is a decent person but it is over.

The pens have the 3rd best GA/GP and the best PK% since 1978-79 (they don’t list anything earlier).
Before tonight it was 93% and they had given up 5 PP GA in 29 games. This was their 6 straight win.
