Rutherford loves Kapanen. Don't be shocked if he trades Boeser straight up for him. No joke because that's just how GMJR is.

It seems like you are trying to portray JR to be a moron who obsessively fixates on players and is helplessly compelled to acquire them regardless of the cost or situation to which I disagree.
Are there a lot of examples of him trading a popular younger productive player for an older less productive player? If there is, I might change my mind.

Burke loves truculence & Rutherford loves trading Pearson & Sutter.

Marino for Schenn, Pearson, Sutter.

It'll be something around Miller and probably Zucker. Maybe Zucker+one of the Pens' recently drafted forward prospects?

Canucks reaction would be they can get a better deal elsewhere for Miller and the Pens/Canucks aren't really good trading partners either.

Schenn had a bad game last night but Id hold onto him and insert Hunt into that trade instead and upgrade on some draft picks as thats what the new President said should be a target:

To Pittsburgh: Pearson, Sutter, Hunt and 2024 4th

To Vancity: Marino and 2022 3rd round pick

Woof that's bad for the Penguins.

How about Kapanen for Boeser?

Then there's no deal to be made. Boeser for Kapanen is a ridiculously shitty deal for the Canucks.
There is a deal there especially with dime other moving parts. Expect GM Rutherford first trade to be with the penguins

If the Canucks are looking for a bottom pairing d or a bottom 6 forward, then there might be a deal around that.

I think the Penguins could oblique with that request but being that JR said it will mostly be picks, I'm not sure what makes sense for the Penguins outside of Riikola for a pick. Maybe Winnipeg's 3rd?

Maybe Boyle too? Riikola+Boyle for Chiasson?

They are in need of a bottom pairing D with some size and grit, a bittome 6 forward with the same a veteran backup G and iam thinking the splash will be a top 6 forward.

The only Canucks target that really made sense for where both teams are at was Miller. Fair bit older than their young core, and on a great deal through next year so he could catch some nice futures.

But now that the Canucks are winning it's hard to see them parting with him.

That said, if he were available I'd propose something like:

To Pittsburgh: Miller
To Vancouver: Zucker, 2022 1st, Poulin

Miller would be a considerable upgrade on Zucker and a much better fit on Malkin's LW. Vancouver gets a capable if overpaid middle six winger in Zucker that they can likely flip for assets next year (included mostly to balance cap hit though), plus two quality futures whose timeline projects better with their core than Pittsburgh's.
