Why would you reward him?
I'm sure the market for him isn't too big so Vegas works for me.

It's kind of dumb the hate Reilly gets, honestly. This is the best opportunity to try things, especially the winger options without Guentzel and Sullivan doubles down on his ignorant ways with just trying the same shit.I'm sure the market for him isn't too big so Vegas works for me.

Line 1: Smith, Crosby, Rakell
Why: Rakell is one of the better winger options for Sid as he plays a solid 2way game and he doesn't bleed goals as much as Jake and Rust do with Sid and his production isn't as bad as blokes make it out to be, since Rakell has been back, he's been producing at the clip his contract warrants, so loser want to bitch anyway because really, Rakell's whining comes from Sullivan's idiotic usage. Smith to me is tailor made for Sid for the game he pays, he plays a simple North-South game and is predictable for Sid, a lot like Kunitz & Dupuis were. Sid thrives with those types because he plays the give and go and cycle with them very well
Line 2: O'Connor, Malkin, Rust
Why: Since Sullivan is hell bent on not using Puustinen correctly, this is the best option for Malkin it seems, Rust & Geno have great chemistry together when they're kept together, but we all now L2 RW is a placeholder for Sid, but this is where you need to put Rust who is playing like his usual self a little more, will help Malkin get back to his game. Malkin doesn't "need to change his game" for f*** all, he needs to be moved to wing or given wingers that compliment his game. I mean ideally if you drop Rakell to Geno, I'd go Rakell-Malkin-Puustinen and go Smith-Crosby-Rust then your third line is O'Connor-Eller-Puljujarvi and lastly the 4th line should be Gruden, Hinostroza, dwarf.
This is an old clip, but why the coach thought it was a good idea to take Puustinen off Malkin’s line is baffling to me.
You never see Geno this open or candid about a new linemate. Dude seemed excited as hell to potentially have “his guy.”
Reunite them, Sully!
he has a no trade contract, so we might be more attached than we want.
Nashville has an opposite problem, Tyson Barrie. very good on the PP and might be a cheap fit for yall
It really is f***ing dumb, I almost hope they trade Malkin just to shove it in Sullivan's face. Actually, trading Malkin to see him put with proper wingers is 100% worth seeing him have fun for the rest of his contract. No one deserves the kind of stupidity this coach puts through players.Because Sully wont allow Geno or @Honour Over Glory to have nice things.
I've given up hope, I mean I did state Rakell-Malkin-Puustinen, but you glanced over it. Raks and Smith can play off wing and are fine with it, but I think Rakell being with Geno is a better solve than Smith being forced on Geno's wing. Why no Puustinen?![]()
"We're trying to make Geno a better all around player like we're doing with Erik Karlsson."It really is f***ing dumb, I almost hope they trade Malkin just to shove it in Sullivan's face. There's nothing Malkin can do to adjust his game to make that pairing work, there just isn't and it seems like Sullivan is forcing Geno to deal with it, which is ridiculous.
During injuries, forcing players to play in situations they don't belong in is normal, but when you do it as your ideas for how to utilize the line-up and make players that are HHOF'ers literally drop in production and look so off their game that everyone thinks they're done....it really sucks to watch."We're trying to make Geno a better all around player like we're doing with Erik Karlsson."
I mean, you can't argue with that flawless logic. Two players who have had HoF careers playing a certain way certainly need to change their game because Mike Sullivan said so.
You must have noticed a few other things too I guess?Karlssons bread and butter this season has been terribly timed forced passes, thats not coaching. End of the day the players on the ice refuse to shoot.
And he cannonballed himself into Chara and took him down once back in the day while playing for buff.Nathan Gerbe was 5'4 and that may have been exaggerated.
What are the pick protections on the EK trade? If it is in the top 10 can we still give them our 2024 1st if we want to?
If this team doesn't sell at the TDL, fire the coaching staff and begin shipping out anything not nailed down this summer, they're morons. If this team "buys" at the TDL, they're morons.
MP at $4.0 million would command quite a haul. We've seen horrible D go for 1sts plus in the past.Sad part is that we have close to nothing of value to sell except Guentzel and maybe Ned
Smith, Rakell, Rust (if he agreed to waive), Eller, and Pettersson would generate varying levels of interest. Call me crazy, but I think with retention and if he agreed to waive, even Carter could be traded. Teams do dumb shit for 'veteran leadership'.Sad part is that we have close to nothing of value to sell except Guentzel and maybe Ned
Retaining on Rakell is a nonstarter. He's not been that bad since coming back from injury.MP at $4.0 million would command quite a haul. We've seen horrible D go for 1sts plus in the past.
Rakell MIGHT have positive value if Dubas can stomach a 2nd retention spot and 5 years of dead cap.
Doubt they'd trade Jarry already.
Why should we care what some jobber on Twitter says? Dude is some random Leafs fan.
