I'd play him over White and Hawkins right now. At least he scored a goal and I like that he shoots right handed.
The bar is set low. As low as it's ever been.I'd play him over White and Hawkins right now. At least he scored a goal and I like that he shoots right handed.
WBS needs players too, currently have 4 up in NHL and 5 injured. They are doing literally everything to keep Hinostroza off the ice, including picking up Vinnie light at 20 lbs lighter, slower, and worse hands.
These guys are f&%#(* clueless
I don't think his legacy or his ability the issue. The question is if he is 100% come playoff time. Considering his 4 week is just after the trade deadline, we'll know soon enough the reality of the injury (ie. if he starts practicing, non contact jersey, etc). There's nothing that indicates he won't be able to play come playoff time. This isn't a broken leg or knee surgery or something where the recovery time and post-recovery play is questionable.
Teams have seen enough of Guentzel. This is a long-term, high-performing first-line left wing. Teams looking to add him don't need an extra 2-3 games to scout him. They can watch as much film on him as they want.
The position of strength hasn't changed one bit. If a team wants him, they will pay the price Dubas wants. End of story. This isn't a Taylor Hall or Thomas Vanek situation where they have to dump him by the TDL and are forced to take a meager return. Worst case, they don't and they resign him.
Every team in the gutter has a Guentzel-level player. Resigning him to a $9mil x 7yr isn't going to impact our rebuild when it comes and it would keep Sid happy.
My concern now is more about getting a 1st that compensates for losing 24/25 to SJS from the EK trade. They are 24th in the league which means it could likely be the 25 1st they lose. If that's the case, I try to make a deal with Edmonton - Smith+Neds for Foegele+1st. Even if it's a late first, it's better than nothing.
Seravelli says they will Lol…I don't think his legacy or his ability the issue. The question is if he is 100% come playoff time. Considering his 4 week is just after the trade deadline, we'll know soon enough the reality of the injury (ie. if he starts practicing, non contact jersey, etc).
When I said position of strength, I meant getting top dollar. Of course they don't have to trade him, so yes, there is no burning requirement which drives the price down.
The question is will teams be willing to pay for a lightly injured Guentzel.
My guess is they will end up keeping him.
Could a team that’s close to the cap trade for Jake and keep him on LTIR until the playoffs if they wanted to get around the salary cap?
I’d love to see him get dealt to Toronto or Edmonton. I have serious doubts he’s going to sign an extension here.Yep, that loophole is still wide open. But said team would probably want Jake to get used to said teammates and system in those ~15 games before the playoffs too.
Demidov would be the only reason I would keep this year's pick. ok, not the ONLY reason but you know what i mean.I'm looking at either this Ivan Demidov or Cole Eiserman. Demidov can be Geno's protege and help give him a reason to stay around an extra year. But more likely Sullivan doesn't want anymore Russians and goes for the best American prospect.
You can have him and Jarry for Saros and a 1stPreds fan who lives 4hrs from y'all. How attached are you to Karlsson?
I respect his compete level on most nights. Fairly happy with his even-strength play, considering the defense has been better than I expected.Preds fan who lives 4hrs from y'all. How attached are you to Karlsson?

Kobasew on L1, eh?The bar is set low. As low as it's ever been.
Not at all, give us something for him.Preds fan who lives 4hrs from y'all. How attached are you to Karlsson?
he has a no trade contract, so we might be more attached than we want.Preds fan who lives 4hrs from y'all. How attached are you to Karlsson?
Just researchingI wouldn't mind trading him for the right return, but why would Nashville add him?
i will not be impressed or happy with Dubas if he doesn’t trade Jake for some decent assets…he can re-sign him all he wants in the summer, he can trade Smith and Rakell, although doubtful anyone is taking the latter, and make whatever other moves, but, seriously, if he holds on to Jake past the TDL, I’m going to be seriously angry…In a tight cap world Karlsson was simply not going to be moveable that easy. But teams have cap this coming year and I do expect the rebuild to take off after next year. Dubas knows he has contractual issues that have to become a non-factor then. Rust NMC is gone, Karlsson is far less in actual salary than his AAV. Geno who knows. But no question moving Jake will be the indicator of what Dubas plans are. I think Dubas offers a good deal and Jake is here and then dealt in 3 years.
