Mine smells like Elderberries.I think thats what @Pens1566 meant. A hall of famer being misused by a coach who thinks his shit smells like roses.

This right hereNot the 5 million dollar triplet in Rust/Rakell/Smith that do zero for this team on 99% of nights.
Iggy was misused hilariously by a dumbass coach.

Do you do Reilly Smith for Kevin Hayes?
I wonder what lessons we could learn from that?Iggy was misused hilariously by a dumbass coach.

Sometimes, I dream about the coaching staff catching a JFK-style magic puck to the head that necessitates putting all of them on LTIR for the rest of their contracts.Trade for them earlier in the season so the position change has more time to stick.
Anyone thinking we are a contender and need to keep Jake for Sid is just nuts…trade him if we’re going to get a tremendous return2 biggest names getting moved early means Guentzel could fetch an absolute haul IMO
That’s a definite strategy. I do think if they can’t come to some agreement by the TDL hes likely gone. I don’t think Pens are in the position to offer him $9M + or should be offering him an 8-year deal at his age…I think the offer they proposed to him which he apparently rejected, 6years at $8.5M, is pretty close to where the Pens need to stayHonestly trading Jake to a playoff team for a haul and asking him if he wants to come back in the offseason (after we clear the dead weight) might be the only way this team gets one last final legit crack at being a dark horse.
Just gaming it out in my head, but if they WANT to keep Jake, trading him and getting some cheap young talent back (so we can get rid of Rackell, Smith, etc.) would make a lot more sense than trying to sign Jake and then dealing with the declining fortunes of the roster. That’s a definite strategy. For sure…does Dubas have the balls to play that game and take the risk he doesn’t resign knowing Sid/Sullivan won’t be happy for the rest of the season? I think Jake was always going to return an absolute haul. It's a matter of whether the organization has the spine to rip the band-aid off.2 biggest names getting moved early means Guentzel could fetch an absolute haul IMO
Well, with the NHL about to announce Olympic participation in 2026, I imagine that seals it that Sid's gonna stick around for at least another season after his current deal is up. Even if the Pens are complete dogshit by then, he'll probably go through one final season to get a shot at playing Olympic hockey with Mac, Marchand and McDavid.
A top 3 prospect in this pipeline isn't exactly special. They got a prospect who isn't the best prospect on the average team and a late 1st, and took on a bad contract. That doesn't do anything.
Yager is a better prospect than Hunter whatever, and Kuzmenko is a negative asset atm. It's less a style clash and more him not shooting 25% again.
Well that would be 7 years. If Guentzel was a 29 year old free agent from another team you'd offer him $9 million+ per year for 8 years?
I would target Kuzmenko as a buy-low candidate.
Could really click with Geno and get his form from last year back.
Monahan for a first round pick and conditional pick to WPG is crazy…hopefully the kind of overpayment and more we can get for Jake…top prospect, first and young really good NHL player
If Monahan is going for a first, I wonder what we could get for Eller. Especially since available centers is drying up.
