Numbers are the same, just remove this year's shots against and saves from his career totals and divide the two.Unsure where the discrepancy comes from. I pulled my data from here: Tristan Jarry Stats And News
I understand small sample sizes for Lindgren (Jarry has played 3x many games) but is .913 vs .909 worth an extra $4M? That of course presumes their numbers stay static through 2023-24.
I don't necessarily think it's worth it in a vacuum. Using Jarry's 1711 shots against in '22, the difference between .913 and .908 is about 8 goals (his actual performance that year was .919).
Availability is a factor. Adin Hill is not available. Linus Ullmark (other people wanted) is not available. So you do have to consider the goalie pool along with proof of performance to some degree.
I was critical of the Jarry deal like everyone else. Not a crippler if he's above league average, but he is pretty average. Other teams also play the bargain goalie game with mixed results. It's a position based on astrological signs as much as anything.
