How about the team gives guys chances to outplay the "fodder" label first, instead of assuming?Yeah I don’t get this. Switching out AHL fodder isn’t going to solve the 3rd lines issues.

I like that POJ is the one sitting when Ruh had the absolutely abysmal night the other day.
Not that POJ is playing well either but that's just a classic Sully move.

I don't know if this is a real question or not? I don't think anyone is against the callup more than saying it really isn't going to move the needle.Damn do you people want guys called up or not? Let Zohorna (attempt to) cook.

Getting top line minutes in the preseason probably skewed expectations around here.
Yeah. Him playing with O'Connor and Eller could bring some elements of what they had in the preseason, but will they get more than 4th line minutes on the 3rd line to show anything worthwhile?
Temper expectations is really key. There's really nothing to suggest a 3rd line will get 15 to 17 minutes to suggest they trust the line "in all" situations.
They should be rotating through these depth guys but I ultimately don't think that's going to make a difference with the bottom-6.
It's a real question based on the insta-skeptics. Of course it's probably not going to move the needle. We don't have any needle movers hidden away anywhere. Microimprovements are still meaningful to bubble teams like ourselves.I don't know if this is a real question or not? A few more standings points at the end of the year is moving the needle.I don't know if this is a real question or not? I don't think anyone is against the callup more than saying it really isn't going to move the needle.

The point they're making is that Zohorna over Harkins isn't going to impact the standings.
Once again the issue is the quality of these guys, we have plenty of such players, not sure it'll make much of a difference but unless we go outside of the ORG this is our plight. Gotta hope someone catches fire even for just a few games.Cant wait for Zohorna to come up and do nothing. So half the fanbase will say hes useless and to call up the next scrub and the other half to blame Sully.
SOOOO what do you do Future GM ExtraordinaireI view this as similar to shuffling deck chairs on the titanic. ALL will ultimately meet the Sea! the question is can one or two stay afloat a little longer?
Zohorna in a pinch MIGHT actually do something. It's worth a shot. But again we really don't have many ''good'' options at the moment.
I would have signed Tatar instead of Acciari but that ship as sailed.SOOOO what do you do Future GM Extraordinaire
There really aren't better sub 1M players outside the organization that are available. I think Heinen could maybe do marginally better than what we've gotten so far from a few bottom-sixers, but there's not much out there.Once again the issue is the quality of these guys, we have plenty of such players, not sure it'll make much of a difference but unless we go outside of the ORG this is our plight. UMMMMMMMMMMM he told everyone he had a contract worked out & didn't & fired his agent ! GENIUSI would have signed Tatar instead of Acciari but that ship as sailed.
Well, the extraordinary GM that I would have been I would have figured out a way. Because after all I am extraordinary!UMMMMMMMMMMM he told everyone he had a contract worked out & didn't & fired his agent ! GENIUS
There is one other possibility I'm mulling over, and if things continue along the same lines maybe I'll mention it in the next couple of weeks. But I want to see how things play out first. We got some tough games against some tough opponents next week I want to see how we fare. There really aren't better sub 1M players outside the organization that are available. If scoring is the concern, we have a few guys who score at decent rates in their careers... Pitlick, Hinostroza, Z, Nylander. Maybe 1 or 2 of them work out and there's a little support.
If you mean acquisition through trade for a pricier, better depth piece, then the only player I can think of who will realistically send cap out is Acciari. But he'd have to suck for a while for them to get to that point. Anyone who's 3M+ on this roster is either untradeable or doesn't make sense to trade. So I just don't see where the cap comes from for a better 3C or whatever.
Nothing wrong with the Acciari signing as long as he was slotted in as a 4th liner who could PK and add physicality. The problem is he's essentially our second best bottom six player because the rest of the bottom six is full of 4th liners/AHL tweeners.I would have signed Tatar instead of Acciari but that ship as sailed.

Acciari has done next to nothing at this point, he's not been overly impressive on the forcheck or in the face off Dot he's not been overly physical so what exactly should we pay $2 million dollars per year for 3 years for? He's been as vanilla and unremarkable is anybody else. And for that salary and considering our cap constraints that is not the most judicious manner by which we should allocate those funds. Hell no! Honestly, the big issue is the 3rd line; namely, we don't really have one. If something like Nieto/Eller/Acciari was our 4th line and we had a much better 3rd line, that would be more than fine.
