Wasn't one of those games one where we blew a big lead, like 4-0?
Yeah, I think that’s the one they won 5-4, but I can’t remember…we blew so many leads…it could’ve been the other one they won 7-4, another bullshit loss lol…edit: no, the 7-4 loss was CDS vs Ned…they both sucked but Ned was a little better, probably why we went for him over Casey..

I think the Pens' D had some experts comparing the 22-23 Wings to the 80's Oilers dynasty.

Dylan Larkin and David Perron are equally scary as Gretzky and Kurri…just ask our goalies

now we have Sprong to contend with…he’ll be gunning for blood against his former hater, Sullivan…at least ZAR was sent down to the A lol

To be fair to the bottom-6, 4/6 of them are new players and 2/4 of the top-4 D is also new players. Havent loved their play but alot of the team's design depends on the D pushing play for the bottom-6. Let's give them a bit of time to figure it out.

It takes time and 3 games is a really small sample size.
I definitely feel right now we have 2 4th lines though.
Just a little over a year ago 50% of this board was on board with it.

Sad

And BTW Trocheck was offered a contract here and it wasn't at the expense of Geno but he didnt want to play 3C and he had a good relationship with Gallant.

That didn't work out that well

I personally was more interested in having someone available as a top 6 C when 1 fell to injury

I was also interested in trying Malkin at Wing for a 10 game sample size. Give him less defensive responsibility but let him go wherever he wants.

I never didn't want to keep Malkin but I can't say I didn't want to add Trochek.

I might be misremembering, but I think there detail that is missing is that people didn't want Trocheck OVER Malkin.

It was "if Geno doesn't resign here, here is a viable option"
There were some with that thought but there were plenty that wanted Geno gone and felt he was washed/injured too much and wasn't worth a contract.

Interesting name from the main boards to add to the bottom-6 is Taylor Raddysh. I already talked about him in a potential POJ deal, but it seems like Hawks fans would actually prefer picks or prospects instead of POJ. I'd be really interested in doing that kind of deal, I'd much rather trade a 2nd for a 25 year old, cost controlled 3rd liner over a 2nd for a rental.

I think that's the deal Dubas should be trying to make, maybe not recreating the Hagel deal but something like that. If they're spending top assets, get someone young on a steal of a contract to help out the 3rd line.
Sounds like a potential 3 way dance.

The jolt the EK acquisition gave the team is way bigger than anything EK himself will do on the ice.
Morale was bad last year. Now there's belief, excitement, ambition, hunger...
Weird, were you in the locker room?

And more than anything EK will do on the ice?

Do you actually watch the games and see what EK does on the ice? He does it all and makes the whole team better Powerplay included.

Honestly after Marinos 1st year here his play dropped considerably. Also if we had him we're probably not getting EK. In a roundabout way it worked out.

@Gurglesons licking his lips right now.

I watched the last Devils game against the Coyotes and they looked pretty shaky. Though they did steal a point to get back in the game and get it to the SO (a massive individual effort from Jesper Bratt), the lines look off. The second line - which should be lethal - looks terrible. Nico and Meier, nowhere to be seen. The defense is off. Obviously it's early in the season but the Devils have a lot of chemistry to find if they are going to be the team as everyone projected on paper.

I love Trochel on this team....as the 3C. He's the kind of player you need in the bottom six to roll 3 scoring lines.

Poulin-Trochek-Rust? That could be an EVIL third line.

Lindy Ruff is not a quality coach in the modern NHL.

He built up a lot of good will in Buffo by having immediate success in his first few years, so the Sabres kept him longer than they should have.

He won one playoff series in four years in Dallas and he was on the hot seat until the Devils put it together last year. Hell, the fans were chanting Fire Lindy early last season, only to chant Sorry Lindy a couple months later.

If there is unrest in Newark, Lindy will have the sword come down on him, not the players.

I like Jake, truly like the rest of you wankers. But if Dubas sees his ask and realizes it's just too hard to fit into the cap with the nmc/ntcs and what not, I'd be all for him trying to throw deal for Cooley asap.

I don't give a shit if Sid isn't happy with it, has to make sense cap wise and if you can swing a deal with Jake at his highest value to maximize an incredible return that opens doors for the after period, awesome.

I also really like Logan Cooley and see him a someone that will do as well or better than Jake, also like him in short time.

I mean you see how Sully deploys the third the last 6yrs and still think that huh mate? You sweet poor soul...

I mean look at it right now. Eller is like idiot-Sully proof and yet, he finds ways. Otherwise I think Trocheck would be awesome as a 3c with Doc as the LW and hell I'd hope for Puustinen but he's not grind-y enough with that hockey IQ and skill, darn it.

Why would the Coyotes remotely entertain this?

They're a bottom feeder looking to rebuild, and you're talking about trading them a 29 year old impending UFA for a 19 year old lotto pick who already looks like the steal of the draft.

Nothing about that lines up. Might as well propose Rust for Bedard.

Maybe CHI considers POJ for Raddysh since it would allow them to send Korchinski back to juniors without having to give Jared Tinordi or Nikita Zaitsev more ice time.

Yea I don't think Ruff is built for the modern NHL. That team is super talented...they kind of remind me of the 07 Pens where they need something or someone to pull it all together.

I think they need the vet presence of JC to steer them towards the championship :)

I guess he’s back to being #101 then lol…sad, but there are worse players and players equal to Malkin (like Kopitar) who are on this list over him…I hope he proves the doubters wrong…

Yeah, I just noticed that as well. Kind of ridiculous.

The disrespect he’s received through out his career is insane.
