Canes make the SCF and the 2nd becomes a 1st. If they win the Cup, the Pens get an extra 5th rounder. WoweeeeeeWhat is the condition on the 1st?

I don't care about the rest of the year. They can lose every game.
And I don't expect Sullivan to be here next season.
Also, why is it unbelievable to think mgmt liked Koivunen and Pronomorev more than Blake? People are talking about these guys like they are in concrete tiers when they only guy who’s head and shoulders above in their system is Nishikin. They were never on the table. You only believed it was possible because of fake insiders selling you a dream for clicks. Guentzel is a rental, you’re not getting that type of quality prospects for 2 months. If he agreed to an extension prior to the trade then that’s another story.
Our FO does indeed suck, but Smith and Ned have both been widely discussed. I'd be surprised if they're not both gone.I’m guessing at most one guy gets traded and that’s it…sorry to burst your bubble…our FO sucks
Timo signed with the Devils lol Ain’t gonna happen with Guentzel, we can bet on it.I guess the Meier trade last year was just a mass hallucination then.
You don't get those type of prospects when you have a bad GM is the true statement.
The fact that this team clearly didn't have it in them post all-star break? Why?
What about Dubas makes you think he is firing Sullivan?
He didn't sign until the summer after the season. A lot of people expected Meier to walk by holding teams hostage with his insane QO.Timo signed with the Devils lol Ain’t gonna happen with Guentzel, we can bet on it.
We’ll see …Smith at minimum needs fired into the sunOur FO does indeed suck, but Smith and Ned have both been widely discussed. I'd be surprised if they're not both gone.
Are they really? the same people that said Smith has more teams interested said Morrow, 2nd, Blake, Bunting. Our FO does indeed suck, but Smith and Ned have both been widely discussed. I'd be surprised if they're not both gone.
Blake is widely regarded by the most prominent scouts to be better than either of those guys, so odds are that the Pens just couldn’t get the Canes to work a top 5 prospect into the deal. Also, why is it unbelievable to think mgmt liked Koivunen and Pronomorev more than Blake? Considering Pagnotta also had bad info - and @Gurglesons, though I won't hold it against him - it seems like there were some landmines out there.Rossi and Madden just went on twitter and stated that the trade that took place wasn't what they were initially told. We were all duped.
In addition, that's Joel Blomqvist's former team.Interesting that Koivunen plays with last year's draft pick Emil Pieniniemi and former Pen (we still hold his rights) Kasper Bjorkqvist in Karpat. We may have scouts who have seen quite a bit of him.
Wouldn't be the first time that I'm wrong, but I think the horrendous performance after the all star break - especially out west in crunch time - is his end.Guarantee Sullivan is still head coach next season
It's disingenuous to compare a trade for a RFA and a trade for a UFA.I guess the Meier trade last year was just a mass hallucination then.
Not when the RFA had a $10.3 million qualifying offer in a flat cap world that most teams didn't want to touch. It's disingenuous to compare a trade for a RFA and a trade for a UFA.
A cap dump, and in no way did we get 3 B prospects. I watch a ton of college hockey and Lucius is no where near a B prospect, a guy who from most accounts is abottom 6 guy is not a B prospect. Don’t know enough about Koivunen but he seems like the only B prospect. This was an atrocious returnA roster piece, 3 B prospects, and a conditional 2nd is not a catastrophically bad return for an impending UFA
Bucci got it wrong, I believe Jesse as well. Those are two guys I respect. No, many were told bad info. Or the goalposts shifted.Considering Pagnotta also had bad info - and @Gurglesons, though I won't hold it against him - it seems like there were some landmines out there.

The difference is that the Canes don’t have the cap space to sign Guentzel to his rumored 8M+ deal. I actually believe none of the teams that made an offer for Jake have enough space, unless I’m mistaken. They all bid for Jake as a 2 month rental, nothing more.He didn't sign until the summer after the season. A lot of people expected Meier to walk by holding teams hostage with his insane QO.
Riiight. 26 year old RFA vs 29 year old UFA.Not when the RFA had a $10.3 million qualifying offer in a flat cap world that most teams didn't want to touch.
