Your disappointed? This TDL was the only thing I cared about and Dumbass soiled the bed! I knew this team was destined for failure but at least get quality prospects in the process for crying out loud! We won't be competitive until 2032!
Are you really that surprised? The conditional 1st really pisses me off ngl
Unless the new coach was prime Scotty Bowman, this was likely inevitable. The Pittsburgh Penguins traded Jake Guentzel before trying a coaching change. That needs to be how this is remembered.
It’s such an obvious move that is proven to work too. Just any Joe Blow can turn a team around.I'd have got a new coach before trading anyone, but here we are.
Sounds like him and I have a lot in common then.Guentzel was dying alive
Ok let's sub it for 34 yo Giroux, hand picking the team he wanted to go to, getting a 1st rounder (top 10 protected) 3rd, and Tippett.Should note Horvat is a center, which always nets more.
It's wild that people didn't see this coming, ngl.Damn Ryder, looks like McKinsey Kyle sold you a load of horse crap and now you are let down. Consulting strikes again!
Coolcoolcoolcool.
This board sucksWhatever. The team sucks, the GM sucks, the coach sucks, were the pirates. Maybe one day we'll be back.
What is inevitable is you defending a mediocre-to-bad coach at all costs.Unless the new coach was prime Scotty Bowman, this was likely inevitable.
And I can admit I was mind numbingly wrong! I backed the wrong horse, and he broke down like the dog that he is. Not Kyle, Dumbass!I thought you said this was going to be some sort of massive restocking and that we were all fools for doubting Kyle?
A trade that places like the Athletic was extremely lukewarm to on the Flyers' end? You're looking at the trade in hindsight now that Tippett has blossomed.Ok let's sub it for 34 yo Giroux, hand picking the team he wanted to go to, getting a 1st rounder (top 10 protected) 3rd, and Tippett.
Philadelphia did receive a first in the trade, but the return package is still relatively light considering Giroux’s overall value. A no-move clause obviously plays a role in that, but you’d still hope for a bit more out of the deal. This is a definite win for the Panthers.

Flyers fans are going to hate the return, and they should. They would’ve hated any Giroux deal, but what they wound up getting in return seems even more annoying than anticipated. Those are the breaks, though. Maybe the 2024 draft class will be deep.
Our org is that dumb they don't understand that. It’s such an obvious move that is proven to work too. Just any Joe Blow can turn a team around.

A little disappointing? That's like saying the titanic had a ''little'' leak.Yeah I'm not going to pretend to know much about these prospects but Koivunen sounds intriguing. Probably our 2nd best prospect after Yager?
Just a little disappointing we didn't one of their higher pedigree guys.
I'm serious. Do people really think there is some sort of scenario where Crosby, Malkin and Letang ride off into the sunset together with one more Stanley Cup raised above their heads? What is inevitable is you defending a mediocre-to-bad coach at all costs.
Florida had totally soured on Tippett at that time and the pick was 2 drafts in the future. It was a trash return in terms of value at that time that worked out because Tippett developed well.Ok let's sub it for 34 yo Giroux, hand picking the team he wanted to go to, getting a 1st rounder (top 10 protected) 3rd, and Tippett.
Were you here earlier? Because initially they reported Morrow then Blake. Several reported either one or the other. So, from that point it's a huge let down. We hearD Morrows name for four or five hours. It's wild that people didn't see this coming, ngl.
