I knew Smith was going in this deal. Why need a PMD. Also Vasili is a good add, he's Sully proof with how he plays. I hope he's called up asap.
Smith seems like he sucks but if anyone can make him into an actual good player it'd be Carolina.

Can we hire Sheri back as an assistant GM…… he would have only 1 responsibility- make the trades!

I like that Koivunen turns 21 in a couple months and Ponomarev turns 22 next week. These are guys who are getting close.
Yeah that's even worse, if you're rebuilding you want younger guys who can make the league around the time you would draft a franchise forward.

The goal is to win, not make fans slightly less sad when they suck. Not have guys reaching free agency when the Pens hopefully become good again.

Pono is ready. Lad has a non stop motor and plays his game regardless of who he plays with. He's a solid 2way player and is one of those wingers that would be great as the forechecker with Geno or the third line. He's one of the players I hoped Dubas would get in the Canes rumors.

A disaster that is still one of the top offense generators in the league.

Our system and coach suck. It's like saying Sid's a disaster for only getting ppg.
key point is "one this team" , which includes an increasingly incompetent coaching staff and no semblance whatsoever of a system
What exactly backs your "guarantee"?
Well, the fact that this never happens, the fact that he's not going to take a hometown discount, which means minimum 8-9 million per over 6-7 years, the fact that you have to pay crosby after next season and you have nmerous other boat anchor contracts with no trade clauses tells me the numbers just don't add up

Again he has to beat out Harkins for a spot. Can he in Sully's eyes? Might be too young.

I mean Smith doesn't suck, the irony is what you blokes think Morrow would be is not far off from what Smith is. When he was called up last season, he looked good but Sullivan being the :eek::eek::eek: he is, needed more Turdwedel.

Koivunen’s stats as a 20 year old are no joke. If skating is his only problem, that can be helped. Idk, I am cool with it. Whatever. I wanted Guentzel to re-sign and I can’t talk myself into thinking any of Carolinas prospects are blue chips besides Nikishin who they wouldn’t even trade for an elite C.

How does this deal compare to other deadline rentals over the last few years? I'm genuinely curious.
Its comparable. Its about what I expected for Jake. Dubas wanted prospects over picks. There are some interesting pieces there. Not sure why the team refused to give Smith a chance though. Bunting adds a lot to what we are missing.

Our prospect pool was pathetic. Good on Dubas to land three prospects in this trade. Hate Bunting, but five future assets is not bad at all. Koivunen's numbers in a men's league is very encouraging. Ponomarev is NHL-ready. Lucius is a project, but one with upside. Overall, pretty solid return.

Ummm, I don't think you understood the question.

Pono looks interesting from the limited highlights i have watched. Seems to have great energy, really good, ,quick shot which is very welcome on this current team.

Congrats on at least managing an asset properly, I'm happy with the move being made. Hopefully Dubas has a much better scouting department than the Pens have had in recent years.
