i posted that it was a great AND horrible return. I'm just memeing. I'm sure the return is fine

I mean, he's not ugly but I'm not sure I'd say he's fine.

Our GM does not do what he claims …Bunting is a shit return unless you’re getting a top prospect from the Canes as welll…and I highly doubt it…taken to the woodshed over his love of a mediocre player lol
It's so counterintuitive. Team sucks and is selling at the deadline, so the key piece coming back is a 28 yo middle sixer making 4.5mm for the next two? I'm sure he'll be a decent player for them but like... Just re-sign Jake then.

Gotta say, salty VAN fans pre-victory lapping a trade that doesn't even concern them, before the return is even know, is so unbelievably lame.
All Canadian team fans are lame like that. Happens when Canada hasn't won a cup since 1993.

i agree with Jaded, though, he had multiple teams on the hook, surely he got the best deal he could, right? So it's gonna be hard to be too disappointed?

Is this like copium overdose?
I mean I'm sure Dubas did the best that he could I just have a feeling it will fall well short of our hopes

That's fair, but I feel like i have realistic hopes. If it's Bunting + a really good prospect + a pick, I don't see how I could be too pissed off about that for a rental.

It's also possible that there's like an extra conditional pick based on re-signing.

They're pathetic. I hope they all fall in the ocean and get ripped a part by Orcas.

I'm just worried it will be like Bunting, 2nd, solid but not spectacular prospect.

And if that's the return, I'll be pretty disappointed in it. I hope we get at least get a first if that's the framework of the deal.

It feels surreal to see Jake getting traded and very likely not re-signing here even though we all knew it was coming.

Bizarre to be a seller. It's literally been what 17 years? Nuts
Yea I'm not quite ready for the Pens to be on this side of the TDL. I still vividly remember 2013 and how there was a new insane trade with every refresh.

If you really like Bunting as opposed to some other younger roster player that might have been offered, then you’re going to see this as the best deal, right, even if it objectively isn’t lol

The ownership group have hitched their wagons to Team Dubas/Sully for at least 4 years........... bad times are straight ahead. This year was as good as it gets for a while, and that wasn't good at all.

lol

I'm allowed to be right once in a while
I was referring to me. ;)

One more argument that the return likely is good is that sellers almost always overpay at the deadline.

And Jake was the premier asset that over half a dozen teams were bidding on.

I would bet more Canes' fans will be disappointed than Pens' fans.
