Jake can't come back until the 10th so cap for him returning was not an issue for the Pens.

Seeing IC post the return will be disappointing has crushed my hopes of anything of value. Blunting and a 3rd is my prediction

It feels surreal to see Jake getting traded and very likely not re-signing here even though we all knew it was coming.

Bizarre to be a seller. It's literally been what 17 years? Nuts

On a side note - the Pens didn't put anyone on waivers, so they apparently don't plan on trying to get Puljujarvi to WB/S for the AHL playoffs, since he would need to be on their roster at the deadline to be eligible, and to do that, he would need to go through waivers tonight.
I fully expect Puustinen to get a paper transaction since he's exempt, and I think Gruden and Koppanen don't need them as emergency recalls, so I expect them to be officially sent down as well, but at this point, nobody else can be.

Yeah, I don't believe that. Dubas gave up value to have him included is my prediction.
Jesse was predicting Bunting, 2nd, prospect which would make me literally vomit unless that prospect is like Nikishin or something.

I'm just gonna assume it's Guentzel and every prospect we have who is remotely decent for Bunting because that way it'll hurt less when it's Guentzel for Bunting, a fourth round draft pick, and Carolina's 67th best prospect.

It makes sense.

They are working out the final details. Another team might be involved for cap reasons. Carolina waived players. Who knows?

But the Pens taking Bunting was a definate.

My guess is that it was the Canes who put that requirement in more than the Pens.

Bunting is the return? I thought we were supposed to get younger?
Our GM does not do what he claims …Bunting is a shit return unless you’re getting a top prospect from the Canes as welll…and I highly doubt it…taken to the woodshed over his love of a mediocre player lol

Okay. What do you want to bet Necas isn't part of the deal?
Every bet I make, I lose. So I don't bet anymore.

Necas probably isn't involved. But I am 100% confident that this is more than Bunting and picks/prospects for Guentzel, and that players who are dressed for one or both teams tonight are involved in the deal.
