I'm fully on board with keeping Guentzel and trading everyone else for space.

Jarry should be getting serious interest and should be moved.

Rumor is Dubas is holding off on trading Jake and looking at adding some big names like the ones below.

This seems to be an unpopular opinion, but there is no bad return for Guentzel. Even if the team intends to contend for the rest of Crosby's career, with or without Guentzel they aren't going to achieve anything. I'm good with with getting anything back for Guentzel. Just don't let him walk for free.

I'm surprised nobody would be interested in Eller. Guess it's the extra year.

If they can't get like a 2nd out of him, then I'd rather just bring him back anyway. He's been great and they can try it again next year when he'll be a pure rental.
I can't blame them. We shouldn't have signed him for 2 years but whatever..

Teams probably think they can do better via UFA with that 2.5 million and find a younger player that will give them the same production and 200 foot game

Don't worry. We have a plan. We are getting younger.

Trading Jarry right now doesn't make sense. Guentzel is a UFA and everyone knew he was going to be made available. Now putting Jarry on the market you will only have a team or 2 that will be very serious but will not offer you a great package because of the cap.

It's a summer move when it comes to Jarry if they want to explore it

Any time you can get out of Jarry's contract you should do it.

Doesn't hurt to listen. If no strong offers, that's fine.

But listen to offers.

lol Jarry is far from the problem and has had a great season so far despite the pathetic team and defense in front of him.

You say Graves, now that's a horrible f***ing contract!

agreed, but who besides New Jersey, and of all teams in the playoffs would be looking right now not only for a goalie but a starter?

The team isn't gonna win as built with Jarry, but the $5mil they get back from jarry MIGHT help build something that can compete even backstopped by our goaltending prospects.

It's not about Jarry being a problem. It's about him not being the solution.

I have a feeling we're going to only trade Jake and kick everything else to the offseason. Can't see the situation out there for Smith right now. Might be better off just hanging on to him and flipping him at the next deadline or in the offseason if it comes to it.

I don't think he finishes his contract in Pittsburgh, I just don't think a Jarry move is made in the next 24h. It will be a move IMO that will be made at the draft or summer and yes bring in some younger key pieces

If I had to bet they will blowout the caps tonight and undoubtedly delusion will set in.

I can see the press conference now: "It didn't make sense to us to trade a player like Jake when we are still mathematically eligible for the playoffs. When you have world class players like Sid, Geno, Letang then you live to win. Yeah. Live. Yeah. Win."

Sitting on Jake doesn't have me worried.

Sitting on the likes of Ned, Ruh, Acciari, Eller, & co have me worried....that Sullivan is still the GM and holding on to these duds because he thinks they'll somehow turn things around and make a push.

It makes sense why Smith may be held up by Jake - but the others? Why haven't ONE of them moved?
does any other team want Ruh?
I know there is time, but I think this deadline is an epic fail if players like Smith and Eller are still on the roster beyond tomorrow. Ruhwedel is expiring, ditto Nedeljokovic. But the other two veterans are exactly the players we need to trade if Dubas actually DOES want to "get younger". They have term, but that cannot be a deal breaker.

Meanwhile, teams are signing prospects since March 1 and we have done nothing on that front either. Dubas needs to prove that he is more than just a big move, splashy GM. So far, he has not proven a thing.

Again, there is still time. But it is also running out.
maybe teams dont want Dubas’ dumbass acquisitions/signings.

Sounds like Dubas.

Then his "plan" of getting younger will suddenly be signing Elias Lindholm for 8 years.

This is the ultimate "hold my beer" post. I hope our GM (i.e. Mike Sullivan) is not reading this board.
