Yes obsolutely! With the Russian Ponomarev I'm thinking the Pens will be going back to Russia to draft some kids outta there to compliment and help him. Having 2-3 Europeans connected by kinship helps with the culture shock most go through when they come to this side of the Big Pond! But yes I like Koivunen's upside for the Pens I'm wishing he turns out to be another S Aho 2.0
If he turns into Sebastian Aho 2.0 I’ll name my next kid Kyle Dubas. I am an Aho fanboy

People always say that players can be moved at the draft for better prices and they never are. The prices are always bad, or at least never "good" enough, so just bite the bullet, IMO.
It's a matter of perspective because the selling team is usually getting the worse player or assets, especially if they are wanting to still win like we do. The price tag that finally makes it "good" is usually unrealistic because we as fans are highly biased.

When I think back: NHL player + 3 2nds + 4th + 5th for a rental is quite good.
You're not going to like the source but the comment itself has never been refuted.

I am trying to find the stupid f***ing article so :eek::eek::eek::eek: like you can stop bitching about it - it was something along the lines of one of the shitty Pens writers stating Sid and Letang were talking about extensions and that Sullivan was the only coach they wanted to play for, for the rest of their careers. Until I find it, here's some nuggets.

@canadianguy77

Btw - After this one in particular, Sullivan should have been fired by FSG - Penguins Room: Crosby Pushes Back, but the Coach at a Loss

Also going back a bit to find the article, I found this in my bookmarks (if you pair that philosophy by MJ and the new coach in 2015 to the cup, you can see what the mix was that won in a way) - https://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/sidney-crosby-gets-fresh-start-with-penguins-new-coach-1.2785707
I think that is talk straight from his ass. I don't think Dubas firing Sullivan would change Sid's mind to retire in Pit one bit. He's not one to storm off because he doesn't get his way and certainly not to another team which would affect his Pittsburgh legacy. Yeah, no way.
Dubas vs Pixies

management consulting vs HR

dystopian millennial battle to the death. Winner gets a Warby Parker gift card and a 4 pack of microbrewed triple IPAs.
I think we've already seen this fight when Michael Scott fought Dwight Schrute at the dojo.

Michael Scott = Dubas
Dwight Schrute = Girgs

Again, all well and good, but I find it odd that we all trash Yohe for being a bullshit artist and incorrect about literally everything he says, but now these puff pieces are taken as gospel. /shrug

I'm no Sid fanboy. People have raked me over coals for the past year for saying I wouldn't give a shit if Sid was traded. I just think players say a lot of dumb shit and it's up to ownership and the FO to grow a spine and fire the coach. Nothing makes me believe Sid is preventing Sullivan from being fired by directly intervening.

I have never stated shit without reading about it, or from a source, so anyone claiming I did, yeah go f*** yourselves. That shit literally does piss me off.

If shit like that is stated and the players and team don't address it as being false, I'll take it as truth or a team driven narrative. They have refuted statements before.
Also players' managers and representation wouldn't allow that either.

Aho is incredible.

The thing about Pono is that he's a player that has a non stop motor, his compete level is never in question. So if you're looking for maximum effort, he's going to give it. He's not going to be some insane top 6 talent, but he's a complimentary player that a lot of blokes like on their line. A player that digs and keeps playing hard and doesn't give up on a play - This team needs something like that with Malkin and Crosby, regardless of where he plays in the line-up.

I don't think anyone is saying Sid is preventing Sullivan from being fired. It's just that Sid likes the guy and nobody wants to upset Sid by firing him. Maybe the Jake trade was that warning shot, Sid seems to have taken it as such.

Because he's a mouthpiece for FSG and seems to write well timed articles about situations we discuss as problems and he goes out of his way to keep pushing a narrative of Sullivan is great, etc etc is the problem, and the team is not shy about putting an end to any conjecture that they feel is damaging or untrue.

Yohe and Rossi are trash like that, but they're tools used by FSG/Penguins Media. If they felt those two morons were lying sacks of shit, they would have limited their access to the team and players. It doesn't mean they don't write propaganda type of trash - it's more or less approved trash that the team feels helps them in whatever they want to spin. Not unheard of at all.

This team could stand to piss Sid off more. The decisions they've been making to placate Sid for years, whether rational or not, have resulted in a flat out embarrassing decline.

They Desperately need guys like that. By all accounts Pono would have made a much better team than the Pens out of camp, but he got hurt. I’m rooting for them to turn into solid NHL’ers why would any fan not what that?

If the Fin turns into Half of what Aho is this trade is a win. Simple as that

I don't understand this Dubas vs. Hextall debate. They're both awful in their own ways, and it's silly to pit them against each other. The much, much bigger problem is ownership and their commitment to Sullivan. Sully has sucked since 2018, surviving Rutherford (left in 2021), Hextall, and now Dubas. Both Hextall and Dubas tried to give Sully "his" type of players to fill out his outdated two scoring lines/two checking lines approach. It hasn't come close to being successful, now six years later. EVERYTHING points to an ownership group with 100 percent dedication to Sullivan, no matter how little success he has; thereby handcuffing whoever is at the "helm" of the team.

He’s a ready made 3C…which is a good thing to have.

Still can't believe someone gave up a pick for Ruh.

Granted, we won't see that pick because it's after the rapture, but ...
Dubas getting a 4th for Ruhwedel is goated imo.

Not firing Sullivan is like celebrating that and then when you are ready to hop on your bike to enjoy a nice ride in the sun and you go to sit down on your seat, the seat is missing and you're left with unpleasant (or pleasant, whatever's your kink) feeling.

I had a tee time in the morning and just got home. Missed everything that happened. But catching up and was hoping for this team to sell off a lot more but nope. NOPE.

f*** Dubas. He was exactly who I said he was when he was hired here: a joke.

This is pretty much the quick of it, yeah.

Oh I know all all about being stripped of privileges, some people whine about the silliest of things and others are just dam well mean spirited...most of us are loyal Hockey fans and have some knowledge, others don't give a rats ass and are here to create tension, trouble and frankly I think they hate the Sport of Hockey...The Greatest and most Difficult Sport on Earth to Master and Play
100% AGREE! Well said.

Seeing him in the AHL and how he plays, I think he's better suited as a W with his size and game. I think DOC looks good at C when he has the right players with him, which I didn't think I'd like but even vs the Caps, DOC was still flying as C.

Don't name after him...name him after Ville cause the new GM will probably be gone in no time flat...he was the one that brought us the Underwhelming EKarlsson who looked lost frankly...but the Pens are saddled with that contract for another 3-4 seasons, ouch!!!
