Given the hit rate on prospects and picks, I think we go 2 NHL players, both bottom 6 and Bunting being one of them. Pretty unlikely it turns out to be more.

Have to think there was better out there and if not keeping Jake seemed like the better option.
Bunting scored 23 goals the past 2 seasons and put up 60 and 50pts seasons and you think he is a bottom 6 player here? Come on

Button had Koivunen ahead of Blake and apparently ahead of Firkus and Yager.

Yeah seeing Button being so high on him I think alleviates any concerns I have with this trade. I think the Penguins clearly got 3 well developing prospects, with Koivunen as a notable prospect.

Why would it be any different if the Penguins got 1 prospect but better?

Who is he high on? I got Sportsnet on

I can’t wait to hear Dubas go on and on about how much work, thought & prep Sullivan puts in blah blah blah next presser… especially after this last stretch of games.

Dude weaseled his was into every title imaginable but couldn’t weasel his way into a guaranteed 1st rounder or top prospect for one of the NHLs best wingers. LOL

Anyway, time to move on from the Jake trade discussion.

What's the rumors for our remaining players?
max contract extension for Harkins, promoted to top line/ top PP/top PK/top 4 on 4/ top 3 on 3 leadoff shootout, and named Captain, we also are gonna be rebranded the Pittsburgh Mighty Harkins.

Apparently Doug Wilson was supposed to be handling the other trade issues while Dubas worked the Guentzel trade.

That means the Pens are going to sign a bunch of eligible players to 8-year contracts.

I don't mind Bunting. I think he brings some elements the Pens don't have and is fairly paid.

My only pause is that after watching highlights from his '21-22 season, he was on the ice a lot with Matthews and Marner, often both at the same time. It's good he can play with great players, but that's prime Matthews and Marner. He's going to be with 36-year-old Crosby or 37-year-old Malkin with somebody other than Marner on the other wing.

You obviously don't know how this works. Especially without Jake coming in with a contract

But hey, you are one of the ones that said you were never coming back here if the Pens resigned Letang yet here you are.

I'm not that worried to be honest, he will produce with Sid next season

plucky young whippersnappers like Harkins, Carter, Ruhwehdel will teach the kids how to Sullivan the right way.

Button has Koivunen as his #34 prospect in hockey, from a list he published about 2 weeks ago. Notably ahead of both Morrow and Blake.

He's also ahead of Yager.
Is this ranking echoed anywhere? Everything I've seen/read has every one of these dudes as exceptionally meh prospects. Hope Button's correct.
