Penguins fans shit talking Orpik and especially Martin makes no sense to me. Martin was a legitimately good top pair D for them in 12-13 and 13-14, along with being a good middle pair guy in 10-11 and 14-15. Orpik slowed down by the end, but he was still a major part of the 2009 cup team.

None of the defensemen on any of those cup teams deserve shit being thrown at them IMO. Now granted Orpik was a shitbag of a person from everything we heard, so I’m a bit more willing to throw shade his way, but everyone else doesn’t deserve it.

I don't think positional 2/3 defensemen are people worth celebrating, especially when they are on the team for a huge spell of playoff failures.

I don't think Martin was a bad player, but I don't think he's worth getting nostalgic over. I'm also not the kind of person to go "You know who REALLY was the star of the 1990-1991 Penguins? Jiří Hrdina." unless I'm trolling.
