I guess it's also worth wondering if the Penguins would try to slip Poehling and POJ through waivers and let them play big minutes in WBS. I think both would very likely be claimed, but there's also a very real chance that I'm just ignorant of the waiver eligible Poehling and POJ caliber players other teams have.

who are you waiving Poehling for? DOC or Caggiula?

If Zohorna was 5'6 and providing the exact same performance, no one would be breathing a word about him. In fact, most would be actively hating him.
Odd take because he's 6'6 so we don't need to play the what if game.

The facts remain he's one of very few forwards at that height, he has monster possession numbers, actively creates turnovers with his reach, and has pretty freakin good puck skill. Not to mention he can play C.

Like what more would you want for the 4LW spot or bottom 6 role in general? Especially on a team with small forwards as is.

If Zohorna was 5'6 he would not be using his reach to steal pucks and make defensive plays. His size is an asset. Thats like saying if a player was worse at shooting you wouldn't be talking about him. You cant just take away an asset a player has.

What if Conor Sheary had taller parents and he was 6'8?

Archibald was such a savvy day 1 signing, guys. Glad they got their man, there.

It cost 900k. Why do people even care?

Avs paid a 4th for MacDermid last off season and paid Ryan Murray 2 million dollars.

Archibald is probably going to play like 20 games due to injury.

If frogs had wings they wouldn't bump their *** when they hopped.

If a guy that was 5'6" was stealing pucks and disrupting play at the same rate as a guy who is 6'6", he'd be a freak of nature.

I literally said "providing the SAME performance".

My comment is more toward - Zohorna gets a lot of slack here because of his height.

What if Sidney Crosby was 4’1” and had a skull that all the leading phrenologists believe displays “criminal tendencies”?

I would say that's an apt comparison but since Boyle is a vet player he has that special and conveniently nebulous and impossible to define "something" that actually makes him way better than Zoho.

I'm saying its literally impossible to have the same performance. His ability to play good defense is from his height. He cannot seperate the two.

Zohorna has been scored on like 3 times at the NHL level. If even that. His height is a huge part of his ability to play defense.

Zohorna’a speed isn’t like fast or anything, but I think he’s just one of those big guys who look slower than he really is.
Ya his first step is slower like most big guys but his skating speed is average and fine to keep up with the play

Yeah this could be true. I don't think his skating is particularly an issue, he just looks slow because of how big he is. He just looks like he's moving in slow motion.

His skating isn't a problem, especially in the context of him as a defensive center.
