Devils fan coming in to ask how Ty Smith has looked so far for you guys?
He's Good so far, We needed a Calm steady guy that isn't mistake prone and can make a good outlet pass and it seemed like we got that in Marino. He’s been a bottom pairing D. He’s looked fine. Couple of flubs, solid puck moving, decent skating, good 2nd PP guy. Pretty much everything we need in the role he’s slated to play for us.
Hope Marino is doing the same over there.
It'd be nice to split the group up and create more focal points instead of over passing 24/7...but the coaches know best eh
Donating Marino allowed us to get older. We want to be the first team to hoist the cup with at least 3 guys in wheelchairs. He's Good so far, We needed a Calm steady guy that isn't mistake prone and can make a good outlet pass and it seemed like we got that in Marino.
Should help my poor heart and stress level this coming season. Seems like so far both sides got what they wanted from the trade.
is it similar to Mellon Arena's old ones? lolReal question for Devils fans- why is the pizza at your arena so BAD? If my nana was alive it'd drive her back onto a boat headed for Naples. IDGI.
Because it's not made by some gavone named Vinny in a greasy brick oven pizzeria like real NJ pizza.Real question for Devils fans- why is the pizza at your arena so BAD? If my nana was alive it'd drive her back onto a boat headed for Naples. IDGI.

Special teams looked like it always does lol…my main concern, and granted I didn’t watch much of this game, is Dumo…there was this comment from Pensburgh this am and I’m not gonna stop worrying about this until I see him in a few RS games…Last night looked like a bunch of dudes secure in their roles coming back from an extensive break vs a team of guys clawing to make an NHL roster. The Powerplay was nauseating and that's the only real concern I had overall from a preseason game.

i think everything follows from the fact that his first step has slowed substantially …we’ll see when the games matter but if he can’t man the top pairing again, we’re going to be in trouble I think…hopefully Rutta can play LD competently then…whole D will be negatively affected if Dumo has to slide down the lineup….they premised the offseason D changes on Dumo returning to form lolI admit I am a bit curious on the Dumo Downfall. After a catastrophic style LBI at his age/experience you would expect a backslide in terms of skating ability but the whole game has seemingly gone to pot. He always had a deceptively good first pass and that also seems to have regressed.
Dumo sure doesn't look like a guy I'd explore an extension with.
Then again, based on last nights results, I would buy out the whole team and just ice the Nailers the next few years for lols. So...
I feel like bad Italian food in Jersey should result in somebody getting whacked.Well you could ask the same thing about Detroits' too. Little Caesars? It's f***in awful
This is why I have to roll my eyes when people keep using projections and truisms to claim that players won’t regress all of a sudden. Sudden regressions happen a lot!I admit I am a bit curious on the Dumo Downfall. Dumo has been shot for like 2yrs now. He can't keep up and it really shows.
I'll be honest why do we think Rutta would work on his offhand against the most difficult assignments nightly?I wonder if they even considered dealing him this past offseason. He's in that window now where his league-wide perceived value is probably significantly higher than his actual value.
He keeps regressing and the options are either he drags down your first pair or you slide him to 3rd pair and hope Rutta can play offhand or some wholly unexpected progress from someone like POJ. Either way his potential value as a trade chip is gone and you basically just let him fester until he walks.
He'll be a late stage Scuderi level player within 2-3 years unfortunately.I tend to agree and it's hard not to notice. But he's been a favorite of mine in his time here and sometimes it's hard to see the value a guy like Dumo brings because it's often more subtle. I keep hoping that this is all nagging injury stuff and that he can turn the corner. But I dunno. It's hard to deny that when players like Dumo bottom out... they bottom out hard and fast.
