I'm not defending s*** I'm just being realistic. It's not apples to apples.

Every deadline there's people saying" but we could have offered more"

What were we offering more of?

I would have matched the offer but I wasn't going to give two first round picks, one of them being lottery un protected
Literally just proved my point buddy

It's funny you weren't even sold on Chychrun initially.

He's good but I don't think he's worth two first round picks, one of them being unprotected.

There's a reason why so many GM's walked away from this.

People will be upset that we didn't give two first rounders for him.

I still think we can grab some significant pieces and I hope We do.

I was one of Chychruns bigger let's go grab some supporters and would have happily done it for a first and pickering. The two first are a little much

When was I not a big fan of Chychrun?

Hard to believe that some of you guys still defend this idiot Hextall. Have that same energy when he trades a 1st for some moron off vancouver.
It’s embarrassing that so many people regained faith in this clown piece of trash GM because he waived some junky players that should have been sat in December.

Hextall better have a surprise deal up his ass because if all he does is acquire JT Miller for POJ or Pettersson what a joke of a season this is.
I'd be happy with JT Miller to be honest. He's an impact player that would significantly improve the team. Hope they don't deal Pettersson though.

Burke just said on his radio show that they aren’t paying these “silly deadline prices and will only make a deal if the price is reasonable. He said if the prices are too high for a player they want, they are happy staying put.” Lol, what a joke
The coaches gms and players all feel pretty comfortable. Good for them.

Where we are in the standings isn't much higher than where Ottawa is. I don't know why people make it sound like Ottawa's picks will be in the top 10 while ours are going to be 25+ range. You're looking at the difference between like 12th overall versus 16th or 17th overall.

The other picks I will debate whether ours will even be later since Ottawa is improving and we're getting worse.

Yeah, that's right now but consider expectations for each team. The Penguins are expected to be good while the Senators are expected to still be a rebuilding team. The teams are close right now, but the Coyotes probably looked at both teams and concluded that the Senators were their best shot at getting as high of a pick as possible. The fact that they're close right now doesn't really change that the Penguins are expected to be way better than the Senators.

Who was expecting the Senators to be a rebuilding team this year?

Literally everyone? They had 73 points in 82 games last year. They did improve in the off-season, but the expectation was still that this was a growing year for them. They're pretty much exactly at where people expected them to be.

Petry has been great.
Getting slow... he is good when he stays in position.. Chychrun is perfect for Letang.. to late now. We have a Pens team that has dysfunctional stuff going with the coaches and GMs not agreeing with stuff.

You have a weird way of changing narratives that were set in stone. Everyone was talking up Ottawa this off-season.

Realistically I don’t care to argue about this anymore.

The bottom six remains the biggest area of need. There are chances to still improve that. But the longer Hextall fiddles, the faster the fires in Rome will spread.

Unless Hextall pulls a move out of nowhere.

Some pieces I could hypothetically see…

Laughton out of Philadelphia.
Trenin or Sissons out of Nashville.
Foligno out of Minnesota.
These names don’t have all of the characteristics I just named lol

I don’t really have a problem with Petry’s speed. As we’ve seen over the past three games when you start getting that playoff environment he is a great asset.
