You could have literally just done nothing but waive/demote McGinn and Friedman, called up Puustinen and Hallander, and benched Carter and it would've been better than trading a 2nd rounder to take on two more years of a middle-6 forward (he's gonna play wing, Geno's not shifting over and I doubt this team has the spine to demote or outright bench Carter) making $5 million to put up like 40-50pts.
