Since 2011, they’ve had 11 picks in the top-16.

They’ve drafted first overall once, and drafted second overall twice.

The most promising second rounder they’ve had in several years is currently playing for us, and the last guy they took outside first round to play more than 100 NHL games was taken back in 2013.

In fact, since 2010, only two guys taken outside the first round have played more than 100 games in the NHL.

And the simple reason he is promising is because he left that shit show to be developed with a better team in Winnipeg and now here. I have no doubt if he was with Buffalo still he wouldn't be any good at all.

If LA is this invisible next year would it be time to panic? I'm not panicking now but he looks very ineffective out there.

The Buffalo, Colorado, and Edmonton’s of the world aren’t a warning about the dangers of banking on high draft picks.

They’re a warning about not being able to build AROUND the high draft picks.

I don’t think it’s too much of an exaggeration to say that between those three teams, you would struggle be able to field a good, complete NHL line with all of the combined players they’ve taken outside the first round this decade.

I mean think about that for a second.

Between three teams, with high picks in the second and third rounds (and beyond), you’d don’t have the ability to put together a clear-cut, NHL line over a 10 year sample size.

That’s abysmal scouting and drafting.

Your comment about Crosby and DeAngelo calling him daddy is not a “balance thing.” I don’t know why you would say that about one of our guys, let alone one of our most promising guys. I don’t mind criticism, but that’s kind of strange for someone who doesn’t hate him.

I think the whispers would start to become a bit louder. But I also think they’d start becoming louder for other guys as well.

All these games between these teams like ottawa and buffalo ...and detroit and buffalo are pretty much a coin toss. Buffalo has checked out.
